"DMV Kitchen and Bath RECOMMENDATION 2023 March In December 2022-January 2023, DMV Kitchen and Bath completely gutted and rebuilt 2 bathrooms for me (foundation, pipes, electric – everything). In addition, they restored several 110 year-old door transoms, installed new doors (5 panel solid wood) throughout the house, upgraded some woodwork, installed two pocket doors, and painted a few rooms. We used high quality materials throughout, not builder-grade. This is the third time I’ve asked DMV Kitchen and Bath to do a major renovation in one of my properties over the last 10 years. Each time they have done superior work when it comes to: • Doing service properly on first try • Promptness • Letting you know cost early • Neatness of work • Pleasantness • Advice on service options and costs • Overall quality • Prices I cannot recommend DMV Kitchen and Bath more highly. All three times, it’s been a hassle-free experience with excellent results. They’ve exceeded my (high) expectations every time."

"This was a great experience from beginning to end. Within 24 hours of my purchasing the bathroom remodel deal on Angie's list, Jennifer DePollar from Chevy Chase Remodeling contacted me to set up our initial consultation appointment with Steven DePollar. Steven came out and completed measurements on my bathroom and went over everything with me in great detail. That very evening he emailed me my bathroom's specific measurments and a list of things for me to pick out to go into our new bathroom. I went online and picked out everything I wanted- which took me a week or so. Along the way I had some questions and both Jennifer and Steve were always available to answer them right away. They even proactively checked in with me to see if I needed help picking out any of the items on the list. Once I submitted my list, they contacted me to let me know that they would be calling me to schedule the project itself once everything was ordered. Shortly thereafter, they called to get me scheduled just as they said they would. During the project itself, everything went great! The work crew was on time every morning and worked hard each day- they cleaned up any debris left behind at the end of each day, so my home was always nice and clean after they left. They did an amazing job and answered every question I had along the way. They were even willing to install a new faucet on my kitchen sink and a new toilet in my basement bathroom, which was not the one being renovated. They also went above and beyond to install my bathtub, as I picked out a special jacuzzi tub instead of a standard one. During the very last day of the project, I was reading up on the jacuzzi tub and realized that the heating unit for the air jets was sold separately. I really wanted that unit and did not realize it was not built into the tub until literally the last day of the project. I called Steven that same day in a panic about it, thinking that it would take another few days to get that ordered and installed, because not only was it last minute, but it happened to be a Saturday. Imagine my surprise when I got home from work that afternoon to discover that they had made a special trip to the store that very day to buy the heating unit and had already installed it! I was so happy. They even bought me a new shower curtain rod while at the store, something I had forgotten to get on my own. As for the bathroom itself? The end product is beautiful. I could not be happier. It is now everyone's favorite room in the whole house!! It is just gorgeous. Even my dog loves it!! We are really enjoying it. I would recommend Chevy Chase Remodeling 110% and will definitely use them again for any future home improvement projects we may have. Update: This job was completed mid August. Today is October 1st. Thursday night (September 29) we noticed a leak from the pipes in the basement ceiling that occurred when we drained the bathtub. I called Chevy Chase Remodeling, and even though it was almost 9pm, Jennifer answered the phone! I was so glad she was there. She assured me that Steven would contact me the next morning regarding the leak. I took a short video clip and emailed it to them. Steven did call me back Friday morning (yesterday) and told me he would indeed send a plumber out as soon as he could, with it being the weekend it is hard to find someone on short notice, but he did! As I sit here typing this, the plumber Steven sent to me is here fixing the leak. Here's the amazing thing... this leak is occurring on a pipe that Steven and his crew did not work on or install during the bathroom renovation... yet he was still willing to help me and found me a plumber to fix it right away!! How's that for AMAZING customer service?? It wasn't even a leak associated with the job that they did, yet Steven & Jennifer still went out of their way to help me. It turns out that the leak was a blessing in disguise as the plumber discovered a stress crack in the main sewage line inside of my house! Yikes!!! Had that burst, it would've been a nightmare!! So not only is he fixing the leak, he's replacing that portion of my sewage pipe as well. That little leak just prevented us from having a huge problem down the road! A big thank you to Steven and Jennifer DePollar!!! And to your crew!! You guys are amazing, and have restored my faith in customer service. I couldn't be happier. Every time I had a question, I was able to reach out and get in contact with either Steven or Jennifer right away, and they always took care of my concerns. Thanks again, Chevy Chase Remodeling! "The work was completed on time and on budget but enough problems arose that I doubt if I'd use JW again. I should have known better when the estimator, on his first and only visit to my house, put pressure on me to accept their estimate on-the-spot. That was a huge red flag but I was in a hurry and the quoted price wasn't crazy, so I signed. But be warned: JW's estimators will pressure you. Things ran smoothly once I was handed off to a project manager. Bob was both professional and punctual. He came out and measured the existing front door so that we could order the new custom door to fit the existing space. I also purchased a new storm door and had it on-site ready to install as well. The installers arrived promptly and were both friendly and efficient. By the end of the day, however, some issues became apparent. First, moulding that surrounds the door frame at the top was a good 1" higher than it had been. This was obvious because the moulding continues horizontally for the length of the wall. It had been level, now the door section was much higher than the rest. Also, the gap between the door and the wall varied vertically from top to bottom. Seemed like something wasn't level there, too. As a result, the door lock just barely made the reach from the door knob to the wall lock plate. Even a slight turn and the door would pop open. The lock plate itself looks to have needed several attempts to alight correctly, leaving unsightly cuts in the wood around it. The storm door was installed properly but they appear to have incorrectly installed the removable glass section. I discovered unused retaining strips in the materials instead of on the door. I brought these issues to Bob's attention and he scheduled the same installers to come out and affix repairs. Unfortunately, the didn't bother to coordinate schedules with me and instead just showed up at my door one morning by surprise. Rather than send them away, I took a few hours off work so that they could get to work then and there. They did resolve the gap issue but at the cost of even more unsightly cuts in the wood. They were, however, unable or unwilling to address the curious height issue that left me with uneven moulding. Overall, the work was completed but the quality wasn't the best and the communication from the installers was zero. This saddens me because they were quite friendly. I just wish they'd done better work. Granted, perhaps my expectations were too high but I assumed that the final product would be showroom-level. Not so much."
