"I was shocked at the great service. It's interesting how much excellent service affects you positively in DC - it really is a big deal for people.  So, It's 100 degrees outside, and of course, \my outside central air fan inexplicably stopped last night.  After a sweltering night of misery, I used Angie's list first thing this morning to call around the entire city looking for someone  - anyone  - who was both reputable and just might be able to come to my house and fix my central air today.  I knew full well that almost all HVAC providers in the area would be booked up - - perhaps a day or days more  - - so unhappily, I wasn't expecting immediate service, (or  sticker shock if there was immediate service). Polar Bear had someone show up to my house in about 4 hours from my telephone call, within a 2-hour band of 'wait-time' (unlike the 4 or 5 hour band of wait-time that's typical) and they fixed the problem completely, at a decent price (while fairly warning me that if a part was needed, there could be a wait).  But it was same day arrival, same day repair, and same day completion.  It wasn't a life threatening emergency, per se, but the sweltering heat was not something I wanted to endure much longer.  Polar just earned themselves a future customer.

"I used Sila Heating Cooling and Plumbing service a few weeks ago because my HVAC system was giving me trouble. This was during the start of the heat wave and for some reason outside unit/condenser unit stopped working. The Inside unit was still working/blowing, but the condenser did not work. I called up Sila and they were able to send someone out right away. There was a program deal, so the charge to send someone out to inspect the problem was reduced to $79.00. Tyler Brawner was the technician they send out to inspect my unit. He not only found the issue, which was a worn out capacitor that needed to be replace. He clean the unit, and checked on my inside unit to make sure it was cooling properly. Tyler was a great tech who was transparent enough too discussed and guided me through everything he was doing, and provide me with some at home maintenance tips for my system. It’s about one month now and the unit is running as normal. Everything all together cost $313.37, I will definitely use their company again, check back with them close to winter to inspect the heating portion of the system."
