"BEAUTIFULLY! I had been looking for remodelers to do my kitchen for 4 years. When I found Northrup I felt like half my journey was done. I worked with Bob Nentl as my contractor throughout the process. This house is over 100 years old so bringing the kitchen up to date proved to be a design challenge. Bob referred me to Richard Groh Architects and I worked with the two of them to get a really nice layout. In the design process, I chose to remove the small back porch and expand the kitchen. Because of the slightly slanting lot, this also developed into a small expansion of the basement underneath the new addition. Communication throughout the process was excellent. Bob and I connected regularly and he kept me apprised of any issues and gave me reminders regularly. The work area was cordoned off so that dust was minimized and living was doable. I say ‘doable’ because construction always disrupts your life. Everyone who worked on his project was professional, friendly and highly skilled. From the cabinets, tile and countertops (the visible pieces) to the plumbing, electrical work, floors, construction, and excavation - - They were all excellent to work with. Even my back steps are beautiful! There were a couple of things that I added along the way, including having the plumber look at and replace the plumbing up to the 2nd floor bathroom, and an egress window in the basement (the City’s requirement). Other than that, the project came in on budget. Our only delay was the April snowstorm that delayed the back steps. I was still cooking in my new kitchen though, and I love it. I would definitely hire them again. Everyone remarks on how beautiful my kitchen is - and it’s so much more functional."

They were professional, everyone from the salesman, to the office staff, to the three men who removed our old roof and installed the new one. They did not disturb our landscaping and they cleaned the area every evening when they left. It was surprising quiet. Their nifty Equipter machinery carried the old shingles to the dumpster in our driveway. Even the dumpster was not obnoxiously large. "The project began when I heard an advertisement from Lindus – they were reducing the labor costs for Leaf Guard gutter installation. The first step was a visit from the salesman. He explained the designs of various covered gutters and the advantage of Leaf Guard was clear. He measured, gave a detailed pricing and coordinated my project with the financing company. All in one visit! My project was scheduled for the late fall of 2019. It snowed! But Lindus was able to install the gutters – after the storm, of course. The weather promised and delivered strong sunshine. Lindus was at my home the day before the re-scheduled installation and cleared all snow from the roof. This allowed the shingles to warm so the installation could proceed. The installation was completed without a problem. I spoke to 3 or 4 employees during the project. Every one of them was knowledgeable about the product and the installation details. It is great that a customer receives service without having to ‘call the office.’ I am a very satisfied customer."

"These two guys called ahead to alert me they were 20 mins out, showed up on time, and were super clean - took off their shoes and laid down protective coverings on my hardwood floors. They did a thorough inspection outside and in and allowed me to watch their live camera inspection so there would be no surprises later, i.e. photo-shopped pics of my debilitated chimney. These guys couldn't have been more professional, friendly or knowledgeable - they gave me options for the future and capped off my chimney with a steel cap so that no rain or chimney swifts or other small animals come inside while I'm waiting to begin the work. I need a new steel liner and I knew this needed to be completed so there were no surprises. My housing inspector (not a great one) had recommended Jack Pixley for the job. Turns out Jack Pixley has been dead for over 4 years and his one-time great company is doing shoddy work. His son now runs 2nd Generation chimney. No Pixley's own or work for Jack Pixley. So if someone recommends Jack Pixley, go with a real Pixley and call 2nd Generation Chimney. These two did not sugar-coat what I was looking at spending should I rebuild the chimney. They gave me alternatives for inserts that are way cheaper than repairing the original structure, gave me the pros and cons of both jobs, and did NOT try to sell me ANYTHING. As a new homeowner, whom everyone and their uncle is attempting to sell something to, I appreciate this approach. They are also CSIA certified and that bears weight with me - I value my home enough to go the extra mile in ensuring it is protected by having specialists perform the work. I will definitely go with them when the time comes. I trust them and that is often worth $$$ to me. <br />"

"WFY's renovation was amazing. We've lived with issues, created by the original owner, with the ground level of our home for nearly 20 years and finally had the funds to get it fixed. It's a difficult situation to explain, as our home's layout is "a bit different." Long story, short, WFY - Rob, and his business partner Scott - properly insulated above and below grade, then finished the area to be sympathetic with the balance of the house. There were many hurdles, each of which were surmounted expertly. In general, the project required hand digging a deep trench around 2 sides of our home without overly disturbing mature tree roots; developing a plan for insulating from the outside (rather than losing precious floor space indoors) while keeping the home attractive; working with other contractors who needed to move various mechanicals to accommodate; making adjustments as underground realities were revealed; completing the insulating, siding, and painting processes; replacing and fixing the landscaping disturbed as a necessary side effect of the project. WFY did it all whilst also being respectful of our requests around reusing existing landscaping materials, etc. It's not yet cold enough for a final report, but we've already noticed a huge difference this fall and expect more good things to come over the winter. The exterior looks even more attractive than it ever did in the past - which is a testament to design skills as well as actual construction. We've now hired WFY for multiple projects and are always thrilled with the results. We so highly recommend this business that WFY is even better than a "perfect 10.""
