"Saved by Ehrhardt Brothers Quality Plumbing (a.k.a ColumbiaPlumber)! (West of Baltimore) Our gas water-heater failed! It’s 30° outside! (Mar 2026). It was leaking, so we shut off the gas, the pilot, and the water inlet, to lessen damage if it burst. Ehrhardt offered a price based on our descriptions and photos, of course with caveats for anything unexpected. A water-heater costs a pretty-penny, but less than we expected. A fair price. They came the next morning, and had the water heater replaced in 90min. Impressive. But the manufacturer sent a unit with a bad pilot! Ehrhardt returned immediately and in 30min, they figured it out. They had a replacement part over-nighted. The next morning, in 30min, done. Hot water. AAAAAHHH :-) The problem was the manufacturer’s fault, and Ehrhardt handled it flawlessly: Excellent communication by Ehrhardt, priority attention to our problem, no excuses, just fast resolution. Great service staff. Perfect!"

"Mr. Rema arrived on time Sunday morning to update my water heater. He installed an expansion tank, duct work and replacing the piping to the thermostat on the water heater. He did an excellent job and took his time. Mr. Rema also went to the local hardware store twice to pick up the material that was needed. The only reason I didn't give him an A was because he quoted me a price at the beginning and then went done on the price and then tried to go back up to the original quoted price. After talking with him he decided to keep the price at the lower amount that he quoted."

"Mr. Brian Langford made all the arrangements with the installation of our gas hot water heater from Lowe's via McCarthy plumbing. He was extremely helpful,patient, professional and available to answer all questions. Due to his approach to his work, we will be working with both companies in the future. Only concern I have is the warranty between Lowe's and AO Smith Hot water heaters. Once the heater is installed, Lowe's severs ties. If there is a problem with the hot water heater, you cannot return it to Lowe's although it was purchased through them, this is clearly stated on the Hot water heater in bold writing."

"Everything seems to have been done extremely well. The guys doing the work are the ones who showed up (right on time) to do the quote. They gave me EIGHT different options for the work I was looking to have done. Understandably, they tried to get me to do more, since they were already there, but there was no pressure or expectation of me agreeing to some of the things I could very easily do myself. They also did not do the typical contractor thing of... "if you agree and sign now, you can get an extra 10% off.' They told me if I agreed now, I'd get priority scheduling. But they were out to do the work within, I believe, 2 days so I don't know how you get much more priority than that. They also did a "free" whole home electrical inspection where they checked all our outlets. Understand they were trying to find more work :) but it didn't cost me anything other than a little time and allowing them to walk around the house to check the outlets. The only issue I did had/have is that I haven't been able to schedule the inspection for the work and that is really mostly on me. I'm sure if I called, they'd help me get that scheduled. Just haven't gotten around to it. The Beacon team's communication was terrific. Workers showed up on time, worked hard and completed in the time (a little less) than they said. Regarding value: I did receive a quote for less from another electrician but the warranty wasn't really comparable to what Beacon offers. And, I also hired them at the same time to do the installation of a new tankless water heater. Since I hired them for both and had a quote for a little less, they worked with me on the price and brought the electrical work price down a bit, which I very much appreciated. They also did a great job on the water heater. They offer no interest for 12 months financing through GreenSky and I was able to combine the two jobs into one GreenSky account so another plus. Overall, this was the best contractor experience I've had in a VERY long time and will definitely reach out to them next time I need work done which they do."
