"This job probably would have gone much smoother if the contractor had been at the job site regularly. One man was very competent, but the help hired needed lots of supervision. And since the dryrot portion was time and materials, I was very frustrated, workers were late, talked on their cell phones, and were not efficient. The contractor's response when I told him I thought he was going to be on the job site was, "I never said I would." He relied on daily conversations with the main carpenter. This might have worked had better workers been hired. After 4 months, a second competent carpenter was higher for a short time and that went well. I think the stucco sub-contractor did a good job but they were messy. The sheetrock sub-contractor took a long time patching, often missing spots and returning. The tile sub-contractor did not lay the hand-made tile very well so I have a constant reminder on his work. The painter did an pretty good job (the stucco is very rough)."

They were here working everyday, without fail from 8am to 5pm. At the end of each day they carefully closed the gates and left the place clean and organized. Nato Vargas was always available - every time I needed to talk to him he answered his phone immediately. On more than one occasion my husband and I changed our minds about various things in the plans and Nato was extremely positive and willing to do exactly what we wanted and offered his suggestions for the design as well. He was more than fair when negotiating prices. I have never had a more pleasant experience with a project of this proportion. I interviewed 5 landscape contractors for this project and chose Nato because he had the most competitive bid and was very punctual and courteous and professional. Nato has earned my respect as an excellent landscape contractor and businessman. I will recommend him to all my friends. I wish I could add a photo - I will try."
