"We reached out on Tuesday about an issue with our garage, and Lex came out the very next day to take care of it. He was friendly, personable, and very professional from start to finish. The repair was done quickly and at a reasonable price. What really stood out was how informative he was — he took the time to explain what he was doing and gave us helpful tips to make sure our garage lasts longer, instead of just fixing it and leaving. It’s clear that he truly cares about his work and his customers. We’re very thankful for the great service and highly recommend this company!"

"I was having trouble with a garage door opener that sometimes bounced on closing and sometimes not. I was given 2 fix options — good and better — and really fair pricing via a free estimate. The estimate was all inclusive — parts/service/tax. Raphael went above and beyond by doing a free inspection/routine maintenance on a second garage door. He couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. I am thrilled with the results and feel the price was extremely fair."

"Our home was built in the early 1980s. The garage door is original. One of the springs broke Saturday morning. My husband called a few Garage Door Repair companies for service. Garage Door Prime Repair has the highest Customer Reviews of the companies he contacted. The owner, Anthony, was the first to return his call. They scheduled the repair between 9-10 am today. Anthony texted to confirm he would arrive between 9:30-9:45 am. He arrived when he said he would and quickly and efficiently fixed the garage door for what he told us the price would be. Highly recommend!"

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Atlanta, GA

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
