"They did an outstanding job installing my new pergola system on my existing patio. Even when unexpected challenges came up, they took the time to get everything done right. I had originally planned to tackle this project myself, but I’m so glad I decided to hire them instead—their expertise and attention to detail made all the difference."

"We could not be more pleased with our new deck and the job done by Husker Deck and Patio! Our previous cedar deck (which was wonderful) finally needed replacement. We have a brick Tudor home in midtown Omaha with flagstone in the backyard for chairs and a small fountain. We really wanted a deck that would fit the style of our home and enhance our backyard â oasisâ . Furthermore, we have an outdoor hot tub that had been surrounded by our cedar deck and wanted to retain that as well. We had not really thought about a new deck until it was rather urgent that we have ours replaced. We sought out various bids and were very impressed with Husker Deck and Patio. Dakota was very professional and responded to our questions very quickly. He submitted an outstanding description of the options available including traditional wood (cedar) and composite. Furthermore, he gave us a fair bid that was in line with others that we obtained, yet he was more transparent in terms of pricing and was better able to provide customization for our project. We really appreciated the renderings provided to visualize how the final product would appear. The options available for decks currently are simply overwhelming and so expensive. However, Husker Deck and Patio were so good about fielding questions, giving us options and were so up front about the projected costs that we were confident in hiring them for the contract. We ultimately chose to go with the composite Trex decking that would require much less maintenance than had our previous cedar deck and should last for our lifetimes. Once the work began, we continued to be impressed with the job. The men worked very had and were so professional, even speaking with our neighbors and informing them of how the construction would go and try to disrupt the neighborhood as little as possible. We needed to coordinate to move the hot tub and with a plumber (to move and install a new outdoor spicket) and our Heating and Air company (to move our outdoor AC unit) ---Dakota worked with all of them to help things go so smoothly. John did a wonderful job customizing a privacy screen around the sunken hot tub on the deck and creating two levels of the deck (for the hot tub) and two sets of stairs to allow easier access to the deck and the backyard. Everything that was promised us was delivered. This is on top of the fact that they worked in the heat of summer when it was blistering outside. As mentioned, the transparency of cost continued as we chose to have them also put in a new short area of fencing and add two gates to the project (our old fence and gates would not have looked good with the new composite deck). In addition, Dakota was so good about assisting in cutting costs where the additional expense in available options would have no impact on the appearance of the new deck (for example the lattice around the bottom of the deck and the unnecessary additional privacy screening for the hot tub). The color schemes, lighting and railing they presented, and we chose, are so attractive and fit in so well with our brick home and the flagstone in the back yard. We are so very excited about our new deck and look forward to using it for many years to come."

"We can not say enough about Deck Doctors. Professional, was here to work full days and into the evenings. Had ideas we may not thought about. Don't hesitate, hire them. We had them do our back deck and having them give us a bid for our front deck."

FAQs for arbor, pergola or trellis custom build projects in Bellevue, NE

Pergolas and gazebos are both outdoor structures, but there are differences between the two. A pergola has a slatted roof that allows partial sunlight to filter through, creating a light and airy space. In contrast, a gazebo features a solid roof that provides complete shade. This key difference influences the comfort and visual appeal of your outdoor space.

Prefabricated pergola kits require one to four hours of assembly, while custom pergola designs take an average of eight to 16 hours. Additional groundwork, such as pouring a concrete slab, leveling the site, and removing obstructions, may extend the installation process to several weeks, ensuring a secure and long-lasting build.

A standard pergola kit ships with everything you need—four support posts, rafters, top runners, support beams, and hardware for anchoring the frame to a concrete pad. Many manufacturers also bundle add-ons like retractable canopies, privacy screens, or modular sections that let you tweak the footprint. Because each part is pre-cut and labeled, the kit helps you—or your contractor—assemble a sturdy, attractive structure without extra trips to the hardware store.
