"The technician was extremely knowledgeable. He has able to look at a rats nest of wires, tell me how it had been miss-wired, fix it, and install two new new switches including a WiFi Wemo in 30 minutes. He also correctly diagnosed a wiring error the builder had made 19 years ago. He deserves my 5-star rating. The only issue I have is Mr. Value's charge of $267 for one hour of work. That is more than four times what I make as a senior SW developer for Dell."

"We just had LBE come out to do a list of items, including light fixture installation and some electrical upgrades. I'm sure all of their electricians are well-qualified, but if Jason Allen shows up at your place, you can best believe you'll get quality service and workmanship. He didn't try to up-sell us on things we didn't need, and he explained everything he did for us as he went along. He was on time almost to the second, and he's just a nice guy. LBE is lucky to have him as part of their company."

"Hamrick, electric wired my home, I was and am still happy with their job. Which is why I approached them for my Generac. I could have payed less, but decided on Hamrick because they are local and the product I think superior to others. Wasn't real happy with the time line, 3 or 4 months. Sometimes hard to get a real person on the phone. The gas contractor although excellent took I think to long. But, again couldn't be happier with the installation. The installers were stellar, very happy with their work. I wish the warranty would have been explained better other than x years on one thing and x years on a other. I really don't know what it is. Overall I give it a 4 + star."

"I called M.J. Power to get a quote on replacement for my electrical panel as our home was built in 99, in Bridgemill. I set up an appointment and was pleasantly surprised with how quickly they came out. The quote was a better price than the three others we were given. We are so glad we chose them to do the job. Jake was friendly and knowledgeable and finished the job on time. He also guaranteed his work and said if we ever have an issue to simply call him. I highly recommend M.J. Power if you need any electrical work done. Satisfied customer here!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Three light fixtures installed to existing wiring, less than an hour to survey work, perform task, and do paperwork...$387...Really surprised my elderly parents and me...Just found out through this experience, they have taken over the electrical for Ragsdale Heating and Air, liked it better when Ragsdale did their own electrical...So buyer beware when dealing with this company."

"So far, the service our family has received from <strong> Ragsdale Heating, Air and Plumbing</strong> has been <strong>excellent</strong>. We have been using their services for nearly a year now. The first time a Ragsdale technician came to our house was due to some issues we were having with the air conditioner last spring. The problem was easily resolved and we signed up for a service contract for the maintenance of our furnace and air conditioner. <br /> Today, two technicians from Ragsdale, Heating, Air and Plumbing came out to our house for a maintenance check of our furnace and air conditioner. The window I chose for their arrival was between 10 am and 2 pm. They arrived at 10:15; a pleasant surprise since I didn't have to wait for the full 4 hour window. The last time a technician came out to fulfill the service contract was during the Fall of 2013. Each and every technician that has been sent to our house has been <strong>friendly, professional, courteous, and on time</strong>. There were <strong>NO</strong> pushy sales tactics or anything like that; just the honest truth about the condition of our units and the possibility that we may need to change a part on one of our units later but it wasn't urgent. <br /> I don't remember the exact cost of the service contract but I do know that it was not some exhorbitant amount (it was less than $200 I believe). And that was a good price for us considering that we had not regularly maintained our units during the 5 years we had been in our home. <br /> I <strong> highly recommend</strong> this company to anyone looking for a new service provider for their air conditioner and furnace. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Ball Ground, GA

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
