"I first reached out to Bob for a quote for a full roof replacement. After exploring options I decided to instead go with a solar installer, but they told me they don't do masonry work. I reached back out to Bob with an incredibly reduced scope of work which only included removing the peak of a chimney and replacing the house's soffit to add ventilation. He was still willing to work with me and treated me with respect throughout the process. Price felt a little high but it was expected since this was entirely ladder/steep roof work. I'm assuming bricks were tossed off the side of the house which explains how the chimney portion was done in less than a day, clean up was very satisfactory. When I asked about further soffit details, Bob thoroughly explained the work involved, how the new soffit would look and be installed, and brought a sample booklet so I could see the color options. Very happy with the resulting work, only ask would have been even more intake holes."

"Aaron looked at the rooms to be painted: living room, dining room and bedroom walls, trim and ceilings. He explained that because some paint came off the walls when I removed two old decals, those areas would need to be skim coated. The estimate seemed reasonable. Aaron and his crew arrived as scheduled and worked very hard for two and a half days. They paid close attention to detail, and the results are absolutely beautiful. The rooms look like new! "I originally bought an Angie's List Big Deal offered by Complete Painting. When Scott came over to get a look at the job he seemed very professional so I decided to get an estimate for several other rooms to be painted. Scott spent a significant amount of time helping me decide what exactly I wanted to do with each room during the walk-through. The price seemed very fair so I accepted it on the spot and he put me on the schedule for the following week. In the meantime I mentioned to Scott that I was having a bit of a problem with our local paint store. He immediately and effortlessly took over matching all the colors I had chosen and purchased them for me in all the correct finishes, quantities and custom mixes. This was a big help! When he arrived right on time with his team of 4 family members they got right to work prepping everything. All I had to do was move my personal effects and they took care of the rest - removal of electrical plates, moving or covering everything. Working as a team things moved along quickly. They were able to paint 2 story walls including one being a staircase as well as the trim of skylights without any trouble or drama. I had more than one painter tell me it couldn't be done. I have had many projects done here in the Albany area and I can say it is rare to have a job very well done at a very fair price by friendly and professional people. They were even great with my 3 big dogs who didn't exactly make their job any easier! I would definitely call on Complete Painting again and i actually expect them to come back soon for more work to be done!

"My husband and I have been building a cabin in the area, with the aim to retire there together and appreciate a slower pace of life. Unfortunately my husband has become very sick and we are unable to finish the cabin. Having received help from family and friends, we managed to get the place to a point where my husband could come and spend some time there, even if it was brief. We did however have a small job needed to be done, a small window in the gable end wall as you approach the property, which would have really set the mood for the place and bring great delight to my husband and I. My brother found J & A Carpentry through Angi over the internet and attempted to get the window fitted as an Xmas gift and to give us both some inspiration in our difficult time. Things havnâ  t exactly gone to plan and our time together is short. Having looked at the job Jeff of J & A Carpentry sensed our desperation and took it on himself to install the window exactly how we needed it done. None of us could believe such a kind act. The job was quoted in advance, be we never got chance to review the quote or even formally engage Jeffâ  s services, but we just had to get the window in for Xmas and they did it for us. The quote was very reasonable and the workmanship flawless. This may sound a little over the top, as a review for a carpenter and builder, but when you are in a world of pain, when you donâ  t know what to do and which way to turn, you are lost, helpless and desperate. Any help is appreciated and J & A Carpentry where there for us when we needed them most. I broke down in tears when I found out how they dropped everything to help us, complete strangers who they didnâ  t know would even pay them, a pure act of genuine kindness, based on trust and faith. I canâ  t possibly express how greatfull my husband and I are for their service. I was beginning to think we were surrounded by demons in the world these days, but there are angels out there after all. With the windows fitted in the cabin thanks to Jeff, we put up an Xmas tree and lights and transported my husband down from the hospital for Xmas. To see the tears of joy on his in his eyes, at a time of only pain and suffering, was priceless. Thank you J & A Carpentry Services, LLC"

It's like a lot of money and he came in with this other guy and he's trying to make a living. They did the job but they weren't really very good. The whole thing was not good."

"Wanted an estimate on getting a fence repaired or replaced. Never heard back after a couple of calls after they said that they would stop by on the next available appointment, Wednesday. I ended up calling Scrapper Smith to have the fence removed. Scrapper Smith removed the fence the next day at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend Scrapper Smith!

"We came home from vacation to very stormy weather.  We found that our garage wall and top corner of the ceiling where the garage meets the house was WET.  We looked for someone on Angie's List to provide us with an estimate on repairing whatever damage might be up there causing this problem.  Due to three top-notch reviews, we called T&T Construction on a Friday.  David Turner (owner) answered my call and we agreed that he would come out at 10:00 Monday morning to take a look at the roof/siding.  Mr. Turner was punctual and got straight to business taking apart our siding trying to figure out what was causing our problem.  He told me that if for some reason he couldn't find the problem, that he would put everything back the way it was before proceeding.  We did, in fact, have what appeared to be hail damage to our siding and roofing. Mr. Turner gave us several options for how he could proceed with the work and an estimate.  We agreed on the estimate and, much to my surprise, Mr. Turner said he and the one man crew he had with him could get the house repaired by that evening.  My husband inspected the roof and siding upon completion and was satisfied that they had done exactly what they had indicated in their estimate.  Mr. Turner worked neatly during the job and cleaned up his equipment and other scraps VERY well after the job was done.  At the end of his work, he even offered to clean fingerprints left on the new siding during installation.  Upon request, he also attempted to fix a siding problem in the back of our home after the roofing job was completed, but not having any additional siding material, he was unable to correct the problem.  He DID put everything back in place as it was. My husband and I were very pleased with his professionalism and work ethic and would be happy to recommend him and use his services again in the future.
