"All went well. Some issues with the foundation were worse than thought so the work took a little longer but it was definitely needed. Part of an addition had been built without proper foundation as in none. It was hanging in air. They made an extra trip to replace and fix drains that had to be removed. Took extra care to make sure as little damage to carpet as possible. Terrance Blackwell and crew came for the outside work. They were great. I really appreciated Terrance's extra trip to make sure the drains were fixed. Austin Wells and Peter Dang came for basement floor lift and level and I greatly appreciated their extra effort to take care of the carpets even though they had to drill through the floor. The little extras made a big difference. Good people, good work."

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

"The job started under fair skys with excavation of the required area to build the wall.  Johnny Lester, the main man, was one earth moving master and although the soil removal was at times difficult to get the right position, Johhny handled it all with determination and accuracy.  The excavation took 2 complete days, and to be honest, I was actually surprised it was done that quickly. <br />      The wall building was carefully planned out before even attempting to lift a block into place.  Now, to be on the up and up, I had viewed some You Tube videos on retaining wall building because I wanted to know something about what my builder was going to try to sell me.  To his credit, his proposals agreed with what I had viewed, so I was fairly sure he knew what he was attempting to do. <br />     So, a trench was dug and filled with gravel, tamped down, and the 1st painstaking row of block laid down.  Never realized just how time consuming it is to get everything perfectly level side to side and front to back for a length of 59 feet with a 90 degree corner in the middle, but Johnny never hurried or lagged behind as the very 1st row is the most critical,,,,and he finished that 1st row in a single day, less in fact, because it had rained the night before and we had to wait a couple of hours for the area to dry out.  The remainder of the wall went up quickly at a pace of 2 to 3 courses a day plus the gravel drainage and packed dirt and reinforcing geogird every 2 courses.  This man worked hard, he worked harder than I ever thought possible. <br />      Overall, I was quoted 2 weeks from start to end, and if was 1 week and 6 days to be exact.  The wall came out just beautiful and I'd not find a worker more dedicated to the job.  <br /> <br /> <br />"

"RC and his crew worked steadily to complete the task. He set as a target of completion, the replacement of my backyard patio and front sidewalk in one week, it took three, so that wasn't too bad. He raised the level of the new patio about seven inches higher than I wanted thus reducing the effectiveness of the privacy fence around the back yard. <br /> He used the neighbors yard as a work space for his convenience without permission. Despite being asked to clean the neighbors yard he left concrete chunks for me to clean up. <br /> He had to be reminded to remove old concrete from an area that was being converted to a garden. <br /> Rather than arrange to disconnect the air conditioning unit before laying the concrete he built a form around the A.C. unit leaving it in a hole. Then he forced me to pay extra to hire an outside A.C. contractor to disconnect the unit. However, he did fill the hole with concrete for no extra charge and finished the patch so it matches well with the rest of the patio. <br /> He poured the concrete for the front yard sidewalk but left for the evening without properly finishing the surface. He applied a compound later to cover up the rough surface. <br /> In the end he left a solid back yard patio which should be very durable. The front yard sidewalk looks okay, but not professionally done. <br />"
