"Excellent customer service. Friendly yet professional at the same time. Felt very relaxed, not tense like some shops. The work I had done was great and in good time. Had my quote same day. It was for a 60,000 mile checkup. Everything recommended was what I expected. No surprises. Gary was at the front desk when I picked my car up. All of my questions were answered and I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of or treated like I was an idiot. I’ll never take my car anywhere else. Thanks again!!"

"Residential Heat Pump failure. Previously serviced by another company, Told would need to replace system. Called Phil for estimate, explained chronological history of failure. He listened, looked, checked and tested and identified the point of failure, Replaced that part from his truck and the system is running again as it should. Phil explained clearly as he worked, very informative, professional and personable. I highly recommend Philco Mechanical Services and will call on them for my seasonal inspection and service."

"Overcharged and poor customer service. My Plumber in fact didn't show up- a contractor did. Unknown to me and with no notice. And his understanding of what the job was didn't match my understanding of the job. The contractor had no paperwork from My Plumber. So I called my phone number for My Plumber, to try to get their representative to talk to the contractor now staring at me in my home. The My Plumber call center person said she couldn't help, and promised another My Plumber rep would call me. They never did. I okayed the contractor to begin the job, with only the hope that he was about to do what I agreed to pay $7000 for My Plumber to do. Fortunately I guessed right. Today I got the "How'd we do?" call from another My Plumber rep. I honestly told her about their poor customer service. Which led to her arguing, talking over me, and interrupting, to include "THAT'S NOT TRUE!" So what would have been a two - maybe three - star rating drops down to one. "

FAQs for gas piping projects in Banco, VA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
