"Having owned four different houses the past 16 years, this was hands down the best experience with a plumber... ever. We hired WyattWorks to install a laundry sink (the stainless over cabinet kind) which required drilling through the floor to tie-in with supply and drain pipes in our basement. Jeremy performed the work flawlessly and was a true pro: measure and recheck, plan and dry fit, and clean up the work area during and after. The whole process from start to finish was painless!"

"Professional with the right tool and know-how shamed this DIY'er yet again. Chris was great and fast; in and out in about 15 minutes; half of that showing me that the drain was fixed."

"For the past couple of years we've had trouble with the pilot light in our gas logs not staying on and/or the fire not staying lit. I called the phone # that Angie's List provided, and David picked up and immediately had me explain the problem to him in detail. He then asked if he could call me back while he mulled it over because he was in the checkout line at a store. Minutes later he called me back and suggested I try simply using compressed air to blow dust away from the pilot light area and to call him back if it doesn't work because there was no point in my paying him for a service call if that's all it was. Well, I tried it that night and the pilot has been going strong ever since, which I have been very thankful given this winter, and all it cost was a can of compressed air. Because of his honesty and compassion for a would-be customer, I'll recommend David anytime, and he'll definitely be the first person I call should I have an issue in the future."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Charlotte, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
