The work was done in two days; at multiple points the installer would ask me to come in and look, so he could explain to me what he was doing. The workers were very efficient and polite in answering my questions, and they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. "Colin built and stained a custom designed 10x12 pergola as part of our backyard landscaping. The pergola has trim on the bottom and top, and custom lattice on one and a half sides.  We wanted the pergola to run part of the way along the house side to cover the water meter but still give access to the meter if needed by the meter reader, and Colin ingeniously determined that the side could be hinged and have hidden latches, allowing it to swing open if needed.
He was open to our ideas for the design, and added suggested options for how to proceed. He checked in with us as the work proceeded to double check the spacing of the top pieces of wood, the height of the top, the stain color, etc, which was really helpful to achieving the end result we had envisioned. 
He was punctual, polite, friendly, cleaned up each day, and his workmanship is excellent.

"the guy who actually installed the doors was helpful, efficient, and did a really good job, but the cost seemed high to me from the beginning, the installer told me that the owner tended to overprice people for small jobs, and when I went to pay, he called in and said they had jacked up the price for the estimate and were asking for more money. He was upset by this, and said he wouldn't charge me for more than I was quoted, but also asked if I could pay with check instead of credit card so that he wouldn't have to call in again (to get the card approve) because they knew he'd give them a hard time about not getting more money from me. So - individual great; company not trustworthy"
