"They did an excellent job and the pool looks brand new again. The workers were knowledgeable and very quick. It was a total of 8 days of their work before we could put water back in the pool. Their customer service responses to my wife's questions were less than satisfactory but the actual work performed on site was good. They do need to get some better telephone help especially at these prices."

"Bill referred me to his co-partner Joe, after 3 unsuccessful relationships with other pool service companies. Now our pool is clean and clear!. Our dogs love him and he is so careful with the dogs and our backyard gate. We never worry about our dogs getting out of their yard.
Joe has solved many problem with our pool equipment. He cleaned our filter deligently. I have referred Joe with confidence to several friends, and they came over to tell me how happy they are with his competence, reliability and fair pricing. All are highly satisfied.. Thank you so much!

"The day after we made the Angie's List purchase, we received an email in which the owner, Vicente Buggiano, said he would contact us that evening or the next day to set up a consultation. We did not hear for him for 2 weeks, so we emailed him. We still did not get a reply, so we called the Angie's List office for assistance and were given his direct phone number. He responded right away to our phone message and stated that he had been very busy and had gotten ill. We set up a consult appointment the very next day on a Saturday. Mr. Buggiano was to arrive between 1-3pm and said he would call before he arrived. That Saturday at 2pm we got a knock on the door and there he was with no advance call. The consultation was thorough but we were not provided a detailed written estimate and only received a verbal one. The price was agreed upon and we appreciated that he was able to schedule the tree trimming service the very next Monday. He told us the workers would arrive at 7:30am and they arrived at 8:15am. They were courteous and answered our questions. Mr. Buggiano stopped by during the process. The tree looks much better and all debris under the tree was thoroughly cleaned up. We were happy with the final product.

"Horizon is great. Our sales guy was Craig, and we have enjoyed working with him. He came to measure the sunlight on the roof and talk to us about the systems, and the new tax credits available. He came back in a few days with several scenarios. We ended up choosing a bigger system that he recommended, because we expect to buy an electric car within two years. The first project was installing the 40 Sunpower 230 watt PV panels on our garage, along with two inverters (one for the 20 panels on the front, and other for the 20 panels on the back) and a solar monitoring system (remote display unit in the house and data uploaded to a web site that graphs our production). It took a few weeks and a little back and forth with San Mateo County, but the permit was approved and the system was installed over two days at the end of December, and the new Net Meter from PG&E installed at the beginning of January. The crew was friendly, professional, and efficient. The total cost of the system was $72,000 but would be eligible for a PG&E rebate of $12,000, so they only charged us for $60,000 and would get the rebate directly from PG&E. They also indicated that we would be eligible for an $18,000 tax credit on our 2009 taxes, bringing the cost to $42,000 after we see the tax credit in April 2010. The second project was to install solar water panels to heat the pool. We waited until the spring for this project, and had to remove a tree that was shading the roof where we wanted to place them. There was back and forth with the County again for the permit. (They are concerned about the structure of the roof and needed pictures for both jobs.) We ended up with 7 panels (4 feet x 12 feet each) because that was all that would fit. (We hope that with our cover keeping the heat in at night this will get our pool into the high 80s.) Here's how the systems are doing: In the winter our panels were producing about 15 kWh per day. In the summer about 55kWh per day. Our pool, only running the pump until 2pm has gotten the pool to 82 degrees, so we've extended the pump to 5pm to pick up a bit more heat. (It is a tradeoff when you have solar power because 1pm to 7pm is the most expensive for electricity.) You only pay for your electricity once a year after you switch to Solar Net Metering. In the winter we were buying electricity, in the summer we are selling more than we use. Hopefully we'll end up with a minimal bill at the end of a year. We were very happy with Horizon. They are great with communication via email and phone. Always happy to answer questions. The work looks great. When we had an issue with the monitoring system they were very prompt to respond. Horizon came to us highly recommended from a friend who used them."

"The pool related tasks were of very high quality, but the concrete deck work was sub-par, including excessive cracking, poor color matching and poor quality sealing of concrete that resulted in a lot of white haze on the deck (my guess is that the sealer was drying before they applied it).
It was very difficult to get hold of anyone who knew what was going on with respect to the schedule. There was a lot of wasted weeks between activities with no apparent explanations. Overall, frustrating to work with, though again, the quality of the pool work was great (tile, plaster, plumbing, new equipment install).

"we were very impressed with out solar endeavor. The installers came when they said they would and finished their job within the same day. We added insulation to our attic to reduce our heating and cooling for the house and replaced 2 old windows . All the guys were great from Idan who evaluated our home, office staff and installers. We are very happy. "

"Our house remodeling required three separate visits from Blaylock Movers. On this third time, Tim and his son-in-law arrived on time, as usual. They proceeded to move the boxes and furniture with care as to not damage the newly installed carpet and newly painted walls. Care was also taken to shield one piece of furniture from the rain as it was transported. It was first class. If I had more moving to do, I would not hesitate to contact Blaylock Movers again."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
