"I am in the process of buying a house in the area south of Hartford. My Realtor regularly uses Jerry's business, The HomeTeam, for home inspections for her clients, and I am super-glad about this! I wasn't able to be physically present for the inspection of the first house on which I had placed a contracted deposit. Jerry came in and did the inspection with my Realtor present, and I received his extremely-detailed report within 24 hours. Based on his observations and recommendations, and accompanying photographs, I made the decision not to follow through on the purchase of that house. After much looking, a couple of months later, I found another house, made a deposit, and Jerry and his assistant Bill came out to do the inspection. Getting to see them in action showed me where the level of detail in the report comes from: they were outstanding. They thoroughly documented every aspect of the home, from the exterior buildings (Garage, etc.), to the drainage in the yard, to the foundation, the house exterior (roof, siding, chimney, windows), the interior (detailed above), and included me in their discussions about what they found. Jerry and Bill's expertise and exemplary knowledge of home construction and design, historical aspects of construction methods, carpentry, plumbing, electrics, combined with an easygoing professional demeanor only increased my trust in and respect for them. Before I moved to Connecticut, my last home inspection was about half the price. So the $485 price tag was a little more than I was expecting-- but having received Jerry's reports, and having observed The HomeTeam in action, I absolutely feel that their work is worth the charge-- and that's having done it twice in two months.
