"Scott, Chris and his team were such a blessing coming to our rescue after months as to the unknown, repeated gallons increase on our water bill,(we held our breath each month opening the bill, yet we were not seeing any indication as to where a leak was while meter still ran at shut off, none of us could find as to where a leak was. We continued to come up short for answers after our water company indicated it was nothing on their side, leak detection, Insurance Companies and everyone else that came out.......WE JUST HAD NO ANSWERS! Again this was such a loooong drawn out headache and nightmare we faced with only the best option we had was to completely replace with a full home replumb and since we were like sitting on a time bomb for some major or multiple damaging leaks with the Polybutylene installed in our home(also we have been told with this type of Plumbing in our home when it starts having issues it seems to typically continue having other places pop up also)! So ugh here we go, we were on a slab, we didn't know who we may could trust/cost we were looking at and then knowing the importance too have great Rapport and and dialogue is so needed going into such a massive project we were totally and completely so pleased with Scott and doing business with them! Every detail was an answered prayer, we're so happy to say, now we have a plumber we can now count on and Trust! My husband and I felt so validated on our decision to move forward with these guys when there was a discovery made that absolutely needed to be corrected even on the safety aspect of it that we had no idea of from previous jobs with other plumber/companies and are so thankful to have had them bring it to our attention! So granted we have learned of great magnitude how important reviews, Word of mouth and doing homework when working with contractor/ plumbers as to trusting with your family and the investment of our homes. Scott Miley you and your team were amazing, I know it was such a super long day, after the super long & HOT week yall had too give US your BEST, see it through on our 13 hour Job!!ð   Thank you again so much!"

"Remedy is the best plumbing company in the Athens area! They truly care for their customers and go above and beyond to make sure they are happy. I switched to a tankless water heater and the work was perfectly executed and for a fair price. I highly recommend them for all plumbing needs and will be using them in the future!"

" Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Bethlehem, GA

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
