"Bob Warren was simply terrific, i had a great experience consulting on my crawl space. Really, Ive never had a crawl space and while having one in my first home i did not know what to look for that was in need of repair. Bob did a thorough job looking over it for me and very honestly delivered me feedback. Turns out i am not in a dire need of repairs but when i do, i know who to turn to. Thank you Bob, and GroundWorks for the professionalism "

"Since Insurance would be involved, he let me know this was not a job his company would be able to work on. Adam was very straightforward and courteous. I understood his explanation and appreciated his time. He let me know of a couple extra things to check on, once the insurance claim was started. <br /> I would contact Adam again in the future for work that was not going to be covered under an insurance claim. <br />"

"Will and his team at CXC did a great job replacing a failing stem wall perimeter foundation on my 1920s mid-city home. I bid the project out to six different contractors. His bid came in close to most and it became quickly apparent that his crew would delivery the highest quality and integrity to the job. His ability to accommodate my scheduling needs, the crew's many years of experience and overall professionalism, and the quick communication from the office administration all resulted in a great experience. A big shout out to WILL (Owner), CELSO (Foreman), and ROSANNA (Administration). Word of advice, get multiple bids and always verify general commercial liability insurance and that it covers the type of work that is going to be done. CXC's was easily verified...others were not and in some instance foundation repair was not even underwritten into their policies. CXC is BBB accredited, many others are not. I would not hesitate to work with Will and CXC again on my future projects."

"There were 2 teams that came to the door, one for the deck and the other for the paver project, I explained the details and even showed them a somewhat blueprint of my dream deck and these guys were on point! ... The pavers were finished quick and my old deck was demolished, the wood was in pretty bad shape. The guys built it and refinished it with the waterproof stain I had chosen. I was amazed at their hard work. Maybe once or twice they ran late by coming in 15/20 min  late,  but they did a great job overall. <br /> The pavers had a combo of cobble stone and river stone which led to the grassy area."

"On his bid, he copiously wrote it out, which is not standard for the practice.  He was meticulous in writing everything out.  He really helped me! He spent a long time explaining the burrito-ing of the French drain.  By the end of the project, I was an expert at waterproofing, French drains, and retaining walls.  He really taught me a lot and helped me through the project.  He followed up with a really nice phone call.  He was wonderful!"

"<p>I was very pleased with the actual workers, and the finished bathrooms look good.  The workers were punctual and hard working and cleaned up after themselves each day fairly well.  I was not pleased with the supervisors.  The guy that was actually supposed to be in charge of all the work only showed up for a while the first day and one other time during the work which took almost 3 weeks.  He never even gave me a phone number to call him.  I had to ask the workers to give him the messages I wanted to give him.  I guess he was scheduling who was coming each day, but I was never told who I should look for, so every day somebody new showed up at my door.  This concerned me since I am a 70 year old woman living alone.</p> <p>The guy who originally came out was a salesman who talked me into hiring this company even though the price was above my budget.   I guess he was in charge of the whole project because he was the only person I could contact, and he came by every time a payment was due.  He did do a few extra things for me which I appreciated but for what I was paying him, I thought he should be giving me a few extras.</p> <p>I needed the bathrooms completed by a certain date because I was having out of town guests who were staying with me for several days.  The project was finished except I had no glass partition or shower doors, so the guests were never able to use the shower.   A different company was in charge of the glass and shower door, and they came out to install it the day after my company arrived, but then the manufacturer had made a mistake so they still weren't able to put it in.  The company was sent by Lightning, so I still hold them responsible for not having the whole thing completed in time.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Big Bear Lake, CA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
