Within three days we were in the office reviewing a written proposal, design plan, and viewing floor selections, cabinet colors and styles, and lights. Two other firms we contacted in Berks Co.: one wouldn't even consider a partial renovation; the other came to view our project and never submitted a proposal or got back to us. "This was the third time I used Mark and he did a fantastic job. The bathroom was a challenge because the space was awkward but needed a shower added. Not only did he find a solution, but it looks great and really improved the value of the property. He did work throughout the house and even redid his work on the front porch railing after a brief conversation about making it look better -- the way he redid the work went above and beyond what I expected and really made everything look so much better. "I am pleased that my bath rooms are much nicer than before the project.  I was disappointed with the way it was completed.  I asked as the onset the approximate time frame and I was told two weeks.  There were a few change orders but by their own time estimates it would have been a 3 week project.  It took 6 weeks and it ended because I just could not take it anymore.  You start with Alex who I do believe would like things to go well but he subcontracts and then really loses control.  The contractor works usually 9-12 or 9-2p.  In the six weeks, there were only a couple of days that were complete 8 hour days.  Beware of the term contractor grade in the bid. I was told that this was a better grade of product but it was not.  I ended up purchasing the majority of the products used and was told that I used very high grade products.  My products were just purchased from Lowes and Home depot and were not the "top of the line".  Also, there was very little concern over respecting my house.  The project was extremely messy--not just construction dirt.  I fully expected plenty of dust and dirt but there splattered paint. It is obvious when I clean my "high grade" floor tile, which I do by hand, that a lot of paint was spilled and not completely cleaned up not totally noticeable until I cleaned it the first time.  In addition, the tub has two chips, again not noticeable until I cleaned up the mess left behind. My hardwood floors are scratched.  The excuse for this was being passed on to a sub-subcontractor plumber.  I don't know who did it I just know that it is done.  The offer to fix it was to "try" to cover it up.  I live in the country and trash removal was a mess.  They did not provide the dumpster that they said would happen.  The trash was piled up outside the doors and I am still picking up pieces of dry wall, pipe, broken fixes, etc.  Be sure to demand the dumpster.  I was told it could not be delivered to my house this is not true because I have had large dumpsters in the past.  I believe this was a cost cutting on the part of the contractor.
I grade them an overall C based on how bad my bath rooms were and the fact that they are now better. I am just warning you that you need to be aware of the process concerns that I have listed above.  The 6 weeks cost me additionally, paying a nephew to sit with the house the majority of the time since I have limited vacation time and not expecting 6 weeks. It is difficult to take vacation time from work and have them work just 4 hours.    I began thinking that this became a money pit.  The cost above is not inclusive of all the expenses of this project. 
I have waited to write this review to make sure that I am fair in my response.  I have given it time and all of the above is a fair "nutshell' evaluation of the project."

"Dan and his son Tyler did an outstanding job. The basement was broken up in separate spaces including a 22' by 7' area which will double as a plant room during the winter time. He installed a counter and sink in this space and added a floor to ceiling built in bookshelf. To close off this area from the main space, he also installed a barn door which looks great. In the main area the work was done to perfection. The bathroom is a little jewel and we could not be happier with the work that was done. Dan and Tyler also went above and beyond when they moved furniture from the main floor to the basement and also put up additional shelves for us. I told Dan to pencil us in for the same time next year to update our main bathroom!"
