"Our service technician Mike G. went above and beyond for us. When we pulled out the shower, the existing piping made it a challenge to fit in the new base. He quickly resolved the issue, relocated existing pipes and worked OT to complete the shower install in a day's time. He also replaced bathtub in a 2nd bathroom and did a flawless job. Much appreciated"

"Several years ago, I had my kitchen remodeled and the contractor I used made a couple of mistakes along the way. When it was time to have my bathroom remodeled, I made sure I did my homework by reading books and carefully interviewing all contractors. Angie's List was a big help. I hired John due to his positive feedback reports from other clients. I had some specific ideas in mind and John was able to follow through on them and also give other ideas along the way. John was always courteous and punctual. When he said he would be there or call, he was. He made sure to always get my opinion to make sure the work he was doing was what I actually wanted. He had ordered all of the cabinets, toilet, tub, mirror and even picked up things that I ordered such as the floor tile. So it was pretty much 1-stop shopping. I knew I wanted a Corian counter and tub deck/wall surround so I hired that person separately. John worked hard scheduling "his" workers around the Corian worker. Great around kids."

"I found this painting contractor, Painting Plus (Terry Hann) here on Angie's list. He had good to great reviews. My initial call was followed up the next day. We set an appointment for Saturday am for a quote. About an hour before the appointment on Saturday I received a phone call from Terry informing me he was stuck in traffic and wouldn't make the appointment. He inquired about my availability later in the day and stated he would call later to set something up that afternoon. Terry called by well after dusk to set something up on Monday morning. As I had no plans, this was not a real inconvenience, however I do appreciate it when contractors show up/call when they say they will. Terry gave me the quote which I liked for a couple of reasons. One was he didn't try to get me to do more, actually he looked for ways to do less - in order to keep the price down. Second was his confidence. He didn't try to convince me with fancy referrals or glamorous photos. I kind of liked that he didn't employ any "cheap salesman tricks". He let his work, reputation, and quote speak for itself. Once I accepted the quote, Kerry put his crew to work that weekend. The power washer came on Saturday to clean the house of dirt and mold. That was the plan, anyway. I was not too impressed with his thoroughness and called Kerry to share my concerns. He sent the power washer back a second time to attend to the areas that I found insufficiently cleaned. The power washer didn't seem too happy, but that's life. I found Kerry to be responsive and sympathetic to this concern. Once the power washing was completed to my satisfaction, the scraping and nailing of boards started on Monday. The body of the house was also painted the first day. Kerry came by late morning to check on things and see if I had any questions or concerns. My only concern was the big splotch of bird doodoo that the power washer somehow missed as well as the painters. It's features can be seen under the fresh paint they applied. I didn't mention this as I didn't want to seem to be a difficult individual, having already complained about the quality of the power washing. The painters finished the house in 3 days. On the last day they invited me to walk around and point out any areas I was not satisfied with. These mostly involved areas near the trim where a drop or brush stroke of the contrasting color ended up where it shouldn't have. I was a little surprised they didn't see some of these areas themselves, but may have intentionally left some so that I would have a sense of control over the quality of the work. Well if that wasn't the intention, it certainly was the result. I felt that I had some control over the final product. The painters were professional in appearance, polite, worked neatly, and were pleasant. The supervising painter kept me informed every step of the way and checked in with me repeatedly to insure I was satisfied with the work performed. I never heard from Kerry again. I would have liked a phone call after the job was completed to inquire about my satisfaction and to thank me for my business. None of that detracts from the quality (which I hope remains so in the years to come!) paint job I received at a good price, however. I would use Painting Plus again and would certainly recommend them to anyone considering getting their house painted."

"We have a slate roof, and we used them last year to replace some slates on the roof. This year, they came back and put a rubber roof over a sunroom. Squirrels had pulled apart the piece of wood that runs under the roof, and it wasn?t part of the job, but he just fixed it for free when he came out to do the rubber roof. Another roofer had actually given us an estimate and it was going to cost quite a bit of money to do that separately. He is very reliable and is responsive to questions. He did a good job and his price was good. We got several estimates and he was in the middle of the low side. The roof is still pretty new and it looks good, and so it is a little hard for me to judge the quality of his work. They were here when they said they were going to be. I would use them in the future, if necessary."

FAQs for bathtub liner or shower surround installation and replacement projects in Blackstone, MA

A bathtub liner is a custom, one-piece shell that slips over your existing tub to hide cracks, stains, and chips. Most are molded from tough acrylic or PVC and can include a matching wall surround for a complete facelift. When a pro bonds the liner in place, you get a watertight seal, a fresh look, and an added layer of safety—all without tearing out the old tub.

After a tech measures your tub and orders a made-to-fit shell, installation takes a day. The installer cleans the surface, applies industrial-grade adhesive, and positions the liner in place. They trim the edges, tighten the drain, and run a smooth bead of silicone caulk to lock out moisture. A quick plumbing check wraps things up, leaving you with a ready-to-use tub by the next morning.

You can pick preset sizes or order a liner molded to your tub’s exact shape, then choose from dozens of colors, patterns, and finishes to match—or refresh—your bathroom. A pro trims and fits the shell on-site, so every contour lines up and accessories like grab bars or shelving land exactly where you want them.

If the liner’s material accepts a fresh coating, a professional can sand it, apply epoxy, and restore the shine in six hours for $480. Swapping in a brand-new liner runs $800 to $1,000 and takes a day or less. Refinishing is the wallet-friendly route when the shell is structurally sound, but it won’t last as long as starting over with new acrylic.

Most liners last three to five years. High-quality acrylic, a snug professional fit, and routine cleaning help you reach the upper end of that range. If moisture seeps behind the shell, mold and odors can shorten its life, so keep an eye out for loose caulk or soft spots and call a professional if you spot trouble early.
