Small jobs welcome

"There are two properties attached together with absolutely no drainage to the sewer and Kyle Irvin came in and commandeered the entire situation. We had a previous plumbers here and they did not solve the problem, but they were very expensive and Kyle was very considerate of the charges and brought in the best of the best to get the job done! Kyle gets 10 stars because he had excellent customer service skills and was very communicative and helped us tremendously. We wish we would’ve gone with Kyle first. His knowledge and experience were top-notch! This was a $15,000 job and Kyle navigated it to be a $10,000 job! We will call Kyle on every new need that we have and we own 10 properties! Irvin Plumbing was a godsend"

"Excellent!! Brad has the knowledge and tools to do the work completely and result in a SAFE installation. Don't have a handyman or HVAC attempt this job. Gas lines are to be respected. That's why RJG did the work. He has earned all my future business."

"Ken was very prompt, worked quickly and quality was great. He took out my DIY version of the plumbing and gave me tips for the future (my wife's tip is to call Ken first next time). Took out what was leaking and got me on track quickly. I like DIY jobs, but plumbing is an art and worth the investment to bring in a pro. Ken also took away my old water heater for free as they have recyclers pickup the old ones from them"

"Front office was very responsive and knowledgable. I paid $149 to have the plumber come out and walk down the job to get an exact price as 1 1/4 inch gas pipe would need to be run across the basement. The Plummer (Kevin) and his apprentance spent over an hour figuring out how they would do the job and what it would cost. Install took at day. Kevin was great to work with as well as his apprentances Robert and Philipe. They worked with me as far as the exact location I wanted holes and where I wanted the pipe run (as I'd have to build a small soffit around it). Job site was cleaned up and the tankless water heat works great."

"Lanz was the highest of 4 quotes from local plumbers when I was looking to have multiple plumbing jobs completed, including the purchase and installation of a new water heater. I went with Lanz on the water heater only because they were quick to respond and were able to install it 2 days after my request. The Lanz rep, Ken, was very professional. On installation day, he had a younger guy helping him who seemed to struggle quite a bit and scratched up some furniture while bringing the new water heater in. He also left a large pipe in the yard that I had to dispose of. I chose to go with the least expensive water heater and still paid $1439.21 with Lanz. Others were significantly lower in price, but definitely not as quick to respond or schedule."

"They did a great job and were very easy to work with. We purchased a commercial grade water heater from a cooperative utility company; the manufacturer would not deliver to our home. Sunkels agreed to let the firm ship the water heater to their address and delivered it to our home and installed it with no problems. Excellent customer service."

"Got a plug in the floor plumbing thinking the smell was from there. Smell didn't disappear. 4 months later we found an open connection hole on the vent stack. WE plugged it and since then, no more smell! ??✌️"

"The two gentlemen that came, looked at the old heater & how it was vented. The person who installed the old one was incompetant. That person vented a 50 gallon gas water heater into the fireplace chimney. The gases of the water heater vented back into itself, therefore killing it. The heater was installed one year before we bought the house in 2006. They removed the old exhaust pipe & the old water heater. They were very careful when removing it, making sure that no damage was done to our walls or door trim. They brought the new one in & cleaned the area. A new pipe was run to the outside wall of the house, so the water heater would vent out of the house. Both men were clean, friendly, & always asked questions before they did anything. Richard called later on to make sure that everything went well & asked if we had more questions. My husband & I would recommend Richard Folks of D&R Plumbing to anyone who would need a responsible & honest plumber."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Bloomington, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
