"We had lived in our home for almost 29 years and what started out as a minor job to repair our livingroom floor turned out to be a major repair for almost our whole downstairs because of termites. A&B started the job and were very professional and took good care of us while the work was being done. They kept us up on the work being done and used top notch professional people to treat our home for the termites, rebuild our floors, walls, insulation, electrical work, sheetrock, painters and a new HVAC system. They are truly givers and not takers! Shane, the Field Manager, was very knowlegable, professional and made sure we were pleased with the work that was done. They did an excellent job on the rebuild and we highly recommed A&B Building Group for any job that you may need, small or large. We are so glad to get our home back and it is much better shape and nicer than when we first bought it! It looks like a new home! I give them more than 5 stars! P. Warren"

"They make life easy and projects exceptional. Grateful to have them in Lexington, SC! We worked with Palmetto Renovations from fall of 2023 through February of this year and we should have connected with their design specialty showroom and staff years ago as our home has never looked better. Our kitchen finally features real stone quartzite with a blend of stunning LVP waterproof flooring, elegant tiled backsplash and an entirely new lighting system from chandeliers to the under cabinet lighting. They replaced a window in the bay area to match the exterior clad. All trim was stained and by the time things were wrapped up, there were no imperfections to even address. It was an experience to brag about."

"John did an excellent job! He was not only knowledgeable about water sprinkler systems, but he was professional, honest, and understanding. He tested, adjusted and replaced rotors and spray nozzles to ensure proper lawn coverage and eliminated excess drainage and water puddles. I will definitely use his services on future projects."

"After a year of renovations to our new home, benefitting from work with wonderful professionals, this is one who needs to be exposed to the community. This contractor took a substantial payment to remove an inner wall that needed a beam to be installed in the ceiling for support. His employee removed the wall and finished the work without installing the beam. This employee was emotionally unstable, threatening us when we communicated poor quality of work back to Jim. Needless to say, our ceiling is sagging and cracking. We made him aware of this August, 2023, and he promised to fix it repeatedly with a final deadline of January 15th. No word from him since early December. We have paid out of pocket for an engineer and repair to begin today with another contractor. This man not only left us in a truly dangerous situation, but he is emotionally unstable and put us through a rollercoaster of excuses, manipulation, and nasty texts. His license has been suspended and he has many previously logged complaints with the licensing board. BEWARE OF ANY PROPOSALS FOR WORK FROM JIM TOKUNAGA, or his business fronts, B&T ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING, ADVANCED BUILDING & CONSTRUCTING LLC, and various other “businesses.”"

FAQs for outdoor kitchen building service projects in Blythewood, SC

Building your own pizza oven can be a cost-effective option if you already possess the necessary firebricks or materials and have the skills to complete the project. When you have the required supplies on hand, you save on material costs and labor fees. However, if you need to source every component, a pre-made kit may not deliver the same savings.

Fire bricks are engineered to withstand the high temperatures generated inside a pizza oven, protecting the structure from cracking or spalling. Standard bricks can fail under intense heat, potentially damaging the oven and creating safety risks. By using true fire-rated bricks, homeowners maintain consistent cooking temperatures, preserve the oven’s structural integrity, and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs. The modest increase in material cost is offset by longer service life and safer operation.

An optimal pizza oven installation positions the opening exactly between 36 and 48 inches above the ground to guarantee clear visibility and safe, comfortable access. This height optimizes heat distribution and ergonomic use. In addition, dome height can vary: shorter domes produce the signature soft, charred crust of Neapolitan pies, whereas taller domes are ideal for generating the robust baking environment required for New York–style pizzas.
