"The ends of the planks on my deck were rotted and Greg was the only person who suggested the window-frame solution. Others suggested splice and replace. Though it cost me a little bit more, the idea is clever and the end result is polished, enjoyable to o view and took care of all the rotted ends. I'm hiring Greg to stain my deck as well. Unlike others, he doesn't pressure wash decks, unless he has to, because pressure washing destroys wood."

"Kevin and his crew were the best we could ask for! Although they were a slightly higher estimate for the work we wanted done - there was just an ease in the relationship and we felt very trustworthy of what we were being told - there were no "make more money" feelings and no pushy sales. The crew came in and did exactly what they said they would (they even took care of a huge ant problem we didn't realize we had!)...they were patient when we needed answers and when we needed time to find an answer. The cleanliness was amazing - if it wasn't such a transformation from what we had previously...I'm not sure I would have known they were there:) <br /> There were 2 windows that in transport had the window panes cracked - Kevin called the manufacturer and had them come to our house directly to replace the panes. It happened to be on a date/time we were unavailable - but Kevin came with the manufacturer, made sure the work was done and left. <br /> Windows, Doors and More was an outstanding company to work with and they are definitely on our list of providers to use again in the future! <br /> <br />"

"We are very happy with everything! We love our new covered deck and remote controlled screens! Dave is very nice, personable and knowledgable. From quote to finish we had no problems at all. We have 2 boys and they loved watching him work and he would take the time to talk to them and explain what he was doing and help a little if they could ? I would recommend him to anyone for sure."

"He is fairly priced and the quality is good.  His workmanship is great and was punctual for the job.  He installed the windows well and trimmed the same.  He does several small remodeling projects and specializes in cabinet stores, trimming, fine finish trim work in the house, etc.  He is an excellent craftsman and always comes as scheduled.  I like his services a lot and will use the same in future."

"I was in the process of selling my house and the inspection came up with a few things on the roof. I signed up for this $99 Maintenance package. The phone numbers on Angie's list were not accurate to begin with. After a few hit and misses I finally got the right number. Provider was very apologetic and promised to take care of it. <br /> However after that initial call, we had to call them at least 5 different times before they sent a technician out. After the work was completed, the buyers had their own inspection done and they found two missing shingles on the roof. This was just two weeks after provider did a thorough roof inspection and a few repairs that cost me an additional  $200+ !!! <br /> Repeated efforts to have them come back to check did not work. I was in a time crunch to vacate the house after selling. I finally had to hire another contractor to replace the missing shingles. It took him just a few hours to go buy the shingles(I had to pay for a whole box --about $25, when we needed just two shingles from Menards), and fix up my roof!!   <br /> My biggest regret with this provider was, having to call them repeatedly. They are very courteous and profusely apologetic over the phone but don't turn up!! <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Bondurant, IA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
