He went back to his truck to call it in and get a price for new install. When he told me the total cost of $4500, I was in disbelief and struggled to understand that $3000 was labor cost. If it takes 3 hours for install that would be $1000/hour. I chose not to let them do the work and called a few other companies to get a total cost baseline and they were all $2k less than what A#1 quoted me. I now have a new water heater and I could not be happier with install, company and service -- and of course the fair and reasonable cost. I don't think I will be using this company in the future due to unreasonable cost charged for labor when you compare to other similar and highly rated companies.
