"There was a wall that needed to be torn down, an ugly chimney facing to be removed and replaced with a new fire place/mantle, a ceiling with insulation added, lots and lots of electrical wiring moved/added, ceiling fans installed, the ceiling in the kitchen replaced and recessed lighting installed, tiling in the kitchen added, painting the whole house, you name it.  We had a general idea to start out with but along the way we made changes or Mr. Ds crew suggested alterations - everything was done without a complaint.  Mr. Ds crew are an amazing group of professionals, his foreman Ruben, his team leaders Travis and Scott, his painting crew with Ariel leading.  <strong>If you ever need a general contractor, don't go to Mr. Ds - RUN to him.  And almost the best: on the last day, when the crew removed all their tools and the coverings of floors and furniture, they brought along a young lady who cleaned the house!!! <br /> </strong>It was all in all a most satisfying experience.  Work was supposed to be done in 2 -3 weeks, it was completed in two weeks. We highly recommend Mr. Ds - on a scale of 1 -10 he deserves an 11! <br />"

"I must admit I lost sleep worrying about picking a contractor for this job. We'd heard all the horror stories. We found Cristian thru friends at my wifes work which is Scripps Hospital In La Jolla, Ca. Cristian came out to prefield the job and meet us and take notes. He later sent over David Dent his architect to work with my wife and some additional things she was thinking about. His input was invaluable to us and he was so thorough. He didn't make us feel rushed or obligated, a very good experience overall. the work started at 8am ( actually Cristian is usually early and waits in his truck) on the agreed upon start date and ended 3 weeks later to the day on time! I was off during this period so I got to watch the work as it progressed and the transition was amazing. These guys would actually clean up after themselves during the day and when they finished that afternoon. They showed up every day unless we had to wait for the inspector to sign off on a portion of the job but Christian was always here for that so no worries for me. The guys were clean, polite and very courteous to my family. Another thing I liked was Cristian let me do all the painting for the job myself to help with the overall costs. His guys prepped all the walls and ceilings with texture, etc...I think he was a little concerned about my painting skills and being able to finish on time for his electricians to come back and cut in all the fixtures but it all worked out just find and it did save us a few dollars which was nice. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this entire project and we added 200 Sq. Ft to our home!! We love the new look of our 1 big room downstairs. It really opened the downstairs up and Sheryl really loves her new craft room we added with that wasted ceiling space upstairs. We will be using Cristian again to add our washer and dryer upstairs to the new room later this year. I hope this helps some of you out there that are in the looking for a contractor dilemma. "Now let me just start off this review by saying that I am a contractor's worst nightmare. This is because I am a perfectionist and will find every little thing that needs to be corrected or altered. That being said Hollywood refinishing, and the owner Tarwat, did not let that phase them. Tarwat was available at every step of the way and was very good responding to texts and emails. We kept our current cabinet frames and had them give us new doors and also a brand-new custom built in pantry. They did a good job of prepping and taping everything off, but just to warn you it is still very dusty during the process, but what construction isn't? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />All the doors and drawers (also all new drawers) are all soft close and the cabinet above the fridge is also new, in addition to the pantry which we absolutely love. It has four large pull out drawers on the bottom half of the pantry and one shelf on the top. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Since we both work full time we left a lock box outside for his guys to come in when they needed to work. I felt comfortable having them in my home and they cleaned up after every day of work. Again like I said anytime I needed something adjusted because of my perfectionism, Tarwat had no problem sending his guys back over. I would definitely recommend them! <br />"
