Customers say: Terrific value

"Don Salazar is one of the hardest workers I have ever encountered. He is personable and easy to work with. He is: >HARD WORKER. Did the job, no complaints or delays. >Punctual. Was here when he said he would be. >Prompt. Got work done when he said he would. >Reliable. Did what he said he would. Got materials as stated. >Reasonable. Minor adjustments that came up were dealt with, no problem. We are very pleased with the work and would not hesitate to hire Don again for future projects."

"I knowingly paid Mr. Cacy more than the other bid due to his rating on Angie's List and was not disappointed.  I bought a lot that needed restoration work done, Frank communicated well with me, showed up on time and did a fine job.  As a part time resident, it is frequently a challenge to get contractors to execute as planned, but Frank did exactly what was requested, did an additional task, on time and without incident.  Would recommend Cacy's Bobcat / Excavation to others that need this type of work done."

"The construction crew worked quickly, were on time, responded to my suggestions, and produced a sold, well-built ramada. They cleaned up after themselves. The landscaping crew also were on time, completed everything quickly, charged the estimated price, and left the site looking just fine. I would use them again and highly recommend them."

"It went great. Personable, hardworking crew.  This was not an easy or clean job.  Dusty, nasty with about a gazillion nails & screws.  Old roofing material, stucco, corbels, vigas, big beams and tongue and groove boards partially attached to the house.  Job required a bit of planning and finesse to get this all done without damage to the house or the workers.  Mission accomplished!/ <br />"

"Grant explained the process to me and gave me an estimate. His crew came out and pulled or weed whacked the weeds, blew the goat heads out of the rocks, and vacuumed them up. They did a great job and the goat heads are gone. I felt that the price was very reasonable for all of the work. His crew will spray next week. I am concerned about the trees with the weed killer so Grant explained how they apply the weed killer while sparing the trees."

"Well. But consumers must do their due diligence before hiring landscape companies for major projects. I got three or four landscaping company names from Plants of the Southwest, interviewed and got bids from three (bids came in at $2 to $4 per square foot). Before signing a contract with Narrow Leaf, I ascertained the company owner from the State Corporation Commission and then checked for litigation against that individual and the corporation itself over recent years at the at the NM court case look up web site."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Bosque Farms, NM

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
