"My Old Range oven controller failed after 26 years. And with no replacement parts available, I was facing a very difficult and expensive replacement prospect for the 40" custom range countertop. I reached out to Neli and quickly got an appointment. We chatted over the phone while Tom was looking at the range. it was so easy and it put my mind at ease, we could fix the beast and be back to baking. Tom sent a follow up email with a link to a tech company that would fix the electronic controller board. He included the specific parts number which turns out was the right one, not the one specified in the manufacturer's online documentation! I shipped the broken parts out. The repaired controller came back just in a few days. The part was installed and range operational before my wife was ready for her morning tea. I hugged the old stove. "Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."
