"We are quite pleased with the quality of service Bill performed. Absolutely no complaints. Highly professional, knowledgeable and skilled. He quickly developed an action plan to add an extra outlet on a separate circuit. He worked efficiently and we are comfortable with the final bill. Would highly recommend Electrical Services. We will hire him again."

"I hired company to replace my electrical panel, and they (Nicholas and Dakota) did a fantastic job. The work took about five hours, and they were efficient, professional, and clear in their communication the whole time. Their pricing was fair—much better than the big-company quote I received—and there were no surprises. Everything has been running smoothly since. Highly recommend for quality work and honest service."

"Travis was courteous, professional, and informative. He gave me my options. Investing in a new HVAC system was pretty spendy, around 18,000-19,000 dollars, but that included a new electrical panel upgrade. More than I thought it would cost, but considering this is 2021, as expected."

"Rock Electric was great. We had electricity brought to a new shop in our backyard. The Rock people were on time, they stayed in touch while we were scheduling and rescheduling. The initial visit went well and all the little details were worked out in a straightforward manner. No issues when we requested the work be permitted either. They were accommodating and professional When there was a question about the trench we dug that we thought met specs they reached out immediately and made sure they were ok to proceed. The job was done quickly and the permitting inspection was also done at the same time. Great customer service. They did a fine job of staying in touch for time frames. After initially speaking with some other outfits that never got back to us or did not show or call for their scheduled appts it was refreshing to work with a group with conscientious, communicative, customer oriented people. We would definitely hire them again if a project comes up. Thanks guys."

"Amazing same day service! Even before a holiday weekend. The women on the phone were very responsive and helpful. The tech was super knowledgeable and took the time to fully explain everything to me in an understandable way. Additionally he provided guidance for things to watch for as things get older and recommendations on future steps or decisions I may need to make. With absolutely no upselling or pressure. Truly just providing much appreciated guidance and when he left, I personally felt more prepared to deal with heating issues in the future."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Bremerton, WA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
