"Michael installed a new gas water heater and completed some additional pipe repair for my kitchen sink on 12/4/2023. Michael was friendly, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and timely! I am 100% satisfied with Michael and Delaware Plumbing Professionals! They are fabulous and followed up to make sure that I was happy and satisfied. Within 2 days I experienced an issue with a company that delivered a new refrigerator to me and would not disconnect the water line to take away the old fridge, leaving me with 2 refrigerators in my tiny kitchen! I contacted DPP in a panic! Teresa calmly advised that she could immediately send Micheal back to my house and he arrived almost immediately! I did need a new shut off valve which he completed quickly and beautifully and then connected my new fridge and saved my day! Micheal was my hero and there are not enough words to describe my appreciation!"

"Woke up on a Friday morning to a tepid shower. Clearly the hot water heater (gas powered) had heated its last drop. Water was oozing out of the bottom and the install date (10 years previous by a different home owner) made it clear that the whole thing needed replacing. I phoned Ray Ross on my way to work as he had done some minor plumbing work for me in the past. All I can say is WOW! They worked with me, around my complicated Friday work schedule, and actually installed the new unit before 5:30PM on the SAME DAY. Really unbelievable particularly as they didn't even get the part number from the old unit until late in the morning (my fault; had to race home on my break to get the info). Tim was fabulous, polite, and did a great job on the install. LOVE the new heater (with warranty) and have even noticed an increase in water pressure. Bonus. This was such a wonderful experience, particularly as I was resigned to cold showers for the weekend. Now I'm planning to get RR plumbers back in 9+ years BEFORE another emergency :)"

"We were having issues with a toilet not flushing well and our usual plumber had recommended replacing the drain pipe for that toilet and  adjacent sink because it had not been pitched correctly when installed.  This was a big job and our plumber had given us an estimate for over $2,000.  I wanted another opinion as to whether this was the proper solution to the problem.   I called John's and set up an appointment for Saturday.  On Friday, Dave from John's called me and said he had finished a job early and could come that day, which was great because I wanted to get an answer ASAP.  Dave came and spent over an hour diagnosing the problem and explaining it to me. He removed the trap in the sink as part of the evaluation and put in a new nut when he reinstalled it.  He agreed with what our plumber had said was the problem and basically proposed fixing it in an identical manner.  His estimate was about $150 higher than what our plumber had proposed, but we have a service contract with them and get a discount, so really the estimates were very close.  I decided to use our regular plumber since I am happy with them and they are doing other work for me.  However, If I have a drain issue in the future, I would definitely consider using John's Reliable Plumbing.  They did not charge me anything for the time spent or the trip to my house.  I'm know others would have. <br />"

"Howard helped me pick out a gas fireplace that was best for my home. Because of weather I couldn't have it installed for a month. On my scheduled date 2 men came over on time. They were extremely professional and went right to work.5 hours later I had a fire blazing in my new fireplace and my house was cleaned up. They walked me through all controls and safety issues. If I have any future questions or issues I feel confident that they would be very helpful."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Brookhaven, PA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
