"After having some other work done, we realized that the back deck supports had rotted out and needed immediate attention.  The front porch also needed some attention in the near future.  I had spoken with Troy Pearl on a prior occasion about potential work that needed to be done and we were planning some other home improvements using Pearl Contractors. <br /> When the more urgent issues arose, I contacted Pearl contractors first to see what was possible.  They were so prompt in their response, so professional, and so well-organized that the work started in about a week, went smoothly and quickly, and turned out very well.  <br /> They were responsive to all concerns we had along the way, and addressed problems that were not immediately apparent before the work started, billing us on a time-and-materials basis rather than via contract.  We are pleased with the work that has been done and we would use them again.  They get high marks and we would recommend them to others. <br />"

"I had a horrendous paint job done by a local hack who did super on interior but did not know what he was doing when he said he can do exterior, too. It failed in 6 months. So I waited almost five years to write this review to see how it would hold up. So far so great! They did an excellent job of prep which in my case was scraping down to bare cedar clapboards and even indulged my anxiety and primed the 50 year old galvanized nail heads which also got scraped of course. They got me in touch with a contractor who did some wood repair quickly (although I have not had as much luck getting them back to do other stuff, guess Clarke had the magic touch there). Joe did most of the work back then on my house and he was excellent. He stayed on it till it was done, no disappearing acts. I recommended Clarke to a neighbor for interior work and they liked them too."

"Although the project turned out to be more complicated and took longer than expected, this had little to do with <br /> the builder or his sub-contractors. Primarily the delays were due to weather, financing issues, and poor <br /> communications on the part of the town's code enforcement officer. <br /> Let me address this last issue first. Prior to <br /> constructing the gravel pad a brand new water line was installed and was even packed in sand to ensure rocks <br /> would not rupture the line. Unfortunately, a rupture occurred anyway. Fortunately, the contractor promptly <br /> installed a new water line, at no charge to us. <br />"
