"Sometimes in life, you’re lucky enough to find someone who REALLY knows their business. I’m thrilled to have found Justin, Denis & the rest of the crew at Penguins Pools. They helped rebuild my 30 year old pool, and have been performing the maintenance on it since. Absolutely AMAZING team of individuals! You won’t find anyone more responsive or knowledgeable than Justin. I can call or text him any time, day or night, and he’s right on top of it. Their team worked with my landscape designer to rebuild our pool. It looks, in a word, spectacular! The amazing part though, is that I know what you can’t see. I know the work they did to install all new plumbing, equipment, bonding , structure, liner and more. These guys know their stuff and don’t cut corners. They do the job right, for a fair price, when they say they will, with a smile on their face. Call Justin. Today. There’s nobody else I’d trust my pool to!"

"John handled all aspects of the generator installation promptly and professionally.  He initiated the permitting process for the construction, electrical, and plumbing permits.  He arranged for the construction of the gravel pad for the generator to sit on, installed the auto transfer switch and made all the necessary modifications to electrical system, and arranged for a plumber to hook into our existing propane line to power the generator.

"I called him on Wednesday and he was inspecting our house on Friday... he was very flexible. Dave Polo came out and gave our 'potential home' a very thorough inspection. He communicated very well about each item he noted. He was very open to questions and from the outset sought our input as to specific areas of concern we had. He started by noticing somethings with the siding and then moved up to the roof. We then did the exterior of the home and went under the crawl space. I had hoped he would've gotten a little deeper in to the crawlspace to really inspect some the tighter areas. But overall made good notes about everything. He was on time and spent 2.5 hours with us answering any questions we had. He also noted some potential asbestos and offered to take a sample to have it tested. We opted for that. He got us a thorough write up later that day and followed up in a timely fashion with the Radon and Asbestos tests. He was also there to give us feedback on questions we had a few days later, although he couldn't really give us any direction or advice."

FAQs for swimming pool covers installation and replacement projects in Budd Lake, NJ

The lifespan of automatic pool covers varies by component. Cover fabrics require replacement every five to six years, costing between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on size and material quality. Mechanical elements like motors function for five to ten years before needing replacement at $450 plus labor. The tracking system and housing unit can last considerably longer with proper care. Scheduling professional maintenance one to three times yearly at $150 to $200 per service helps maximize the operational life of all components.

While automatic covers require a larger initial investment, they provide significant advantages that often justify the premium. The convenience of one-touch operation encourages more consistent use, maximizing energy savings that can reach 50% to 70% on heating costs. The enhanced safety features, reduced chemical requirements, and decreased water evaporation deliver ongoing operational savings. These benefits outweigh the higher upfront expense for households that use their pools frequently.

Most existing pools can be retrofitted with automatic covers, though rectangular shapes accommodate them more easily than custom configurations. On-deck track systems offer the most straightforward installation for existing pools since they require minimal structural modifications. Recessed track systems necessitate more substantial deck alterations but provide a cleaner appearance. A professional assessment is essential to determine which system best suits your pool's specific layout and structural characteristics.

Proper maintenance includes promptly removing standing water and debris to prevent excessive weight on the cover. Use manufacturer-approved cleaning solutions for periodic washing according to recommended guidelines. Keep tracks clear of dirt and obstructions that could cause alignment problems or motor strain. Professional servicing one to three times yearly allows technicians to inspect mechanical components, lubricate moving parts, and make necessary adjustments before minor issues develop into major problems requiring costly repairs.
