He did mention that if he removed the tiles and the work was required it would need to be done, but it was almost as if the others were saying they needed to do much more than was required. When a question about changes to the estimate and scope of work came up, he consulted me, confirmed that he would insist on doing the job to code which required additional work and I agreed and accepted.
