"I have used them since 1979. I have a shared driveway with my neighbor with aprons in the back and we split the bill. I think we paid about $300 each. I recommend them all the time and say I have used them for years. They are reliable, give me a price and it never changes. They do great work. They are meticulous, clean and they don't get off the asphalt on the brick sidewalls. I could not say enough about them. I did some shopping last year and they were a hair more than one other company, but I went with them because of their reputation and my history with them. I gave them a choice of three days when they could do the work because we had to adjust the parking. They showed up the day they said on time. They said they would be here at 8'oclock and they were here at 8 'oclock"

"He gave us a quote which was ~60% the cost of a brand new Allan block wall with permit. The quote was to put the old wall back on using fallen stones and some new stones. I thought that was a bit high for the job, but we were not in a position to put a new wall in. He did the job on time and finished promptly without any delay. His men were professional and fast. He back-filled with some gravel and some construction debris and put new drain tubes. The wall looks good (check picture)."

"<p>The new pad was excavated and filled with stone. Unfortunately, the 2 ton dump truck which brought the stone and asphalt severely damaged the edge and marred the surface of my existing asphalt driveway. This could have been avoided with the correct size equipment and a bit more care by the operator(s).</p> <p>The end result is that 80% of the new pad looks fine, but the 20% that is adjacent to my existing, now damaged driveway looks compromised. The crew should have at least sawed a straight edge along the damaged area before pouring the new asphalt.</p> <br />"

"We were very pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately, an afternoon rain shower washed the sealant away and tossed black sealant up onto our garage door. Shortly after reporting this to the company, they applied paint remover to our garage door and power-washed it. Our driveway was resealed. Next, they repainted our garage door using extra paint we had on hand. Lastly, they showed up at our door with new cans of paint to replace the cans we had provided them. They did everything they had promised and in a courteous and professional manner. We would definitely ask them back."

"From beginning to end, it was a challenge. The initial meeting was good or else we wouldn't have hired Townescapes. We got bids from multiple providers. My husband and I made our selection based on reviews and face to face meetings. Townescapes fell middle to higher end of the pricing spectrum. We paid our deposit in March and asked for a tentative date for the install. We were told early to mid-April. That time came and went with zero communication from the sales person,Terry. Each time the date was delayed it was not discovered by a call placed to me by Terry, but rather a call from me to Terry. Each time I requested that if the new date would not be met, call me. I finally resorted to calling the owner of the company. This is a man who values his customers, right? Well if sarcasm and condescension equals valued, well then I was a valued customer. It took 15 days. The grade was too steep and steps were sloppy. It had to be done twice. I hope you have better luck."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Burlington, KY

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
