"I needed new screens for almost every room in the house. I also had them install a slider. They did a great job and the price was very reasonable. Did all the work in one day right on the premises."

"I hired Bob to do repairs and renovation of a condo rental unit. He renovated the bathroom with new tiles, replacing bathroom rotten wood frame window with a vinyl frame, installing new light fixtures and repairing bathroom plumbing, repairing torn screens, as well as repainting interior walls and trim throughout the unit and installing new shades throughout. He also plastered water-damaged ceilings and cleaned and organized the basement storage area. On the exterior he replaced a rotted window frame and missing clapboards, then patched and painted the wall. Bob arrived early each day and worked diligently. Bob is a great problem solver and works with you to suggest ways to do repairs for the best outcome while keeping costs down. His work is high quality. I would definitely hire him again."

"Needed assessment and solution for sinking back yard. A solution and plan was presented. Any questions or concerns were addressed. At no time did I feel pressured. A wooden shed on the location had to be removed and disposed. Special consideration had to be made for water flow which may have caused this problem. The solution seems logical. Based on the finished work, I have great confidence that I will use this company again."

Customers say: Quality work

"Mr. Terry was awesome! This is my first review I am writing. I felt I needed to write something as his work was so outstanding. He repaired 16 windows and did it beautifully. Marvin's quoted over $40K!! He was able to do what was needed for much much less. He was honest, professional, meticulous, extremely knowledgeable and kind. Miles above the window brand quotes which are ridiculous. Would strongly recommend if you need any window repairs!!!"

"After a broken pipe damaged most of our bathroom, we hired Travis to to do the remodel. Travis installed new drywall, the completely new shower with tile work on the walls, tile work on the shower floor, and created new glass niches in the shower wall. He also replaced the damaged wood work and replaced our tile floor. Travis got the job done much faster than we had anticipated, even coming to work on weekends to ensure that the job got done fast. Our new bathroom is beautiful! We will be hiring Travis again for additional jobs we need done for our home. Highly recommend!"

"Brennan is incredibly transparent, detail-oriented, and well-informed. He works really, really hard. For clarity: he installed a bulkhead for us, and this service alone was a little hard to for us to find. He gave us 2 options, both with VERY competitive quotes, and even threw in sealing up some basement leaks for free. He stayed true to his estimates. In all, amazing value and a guy that is serious about having a good relationship with the customer. I would say that customers should be patient, because it's basically Brennan and 2-3 younger kids. For us, the bulkhead was supposed to be a 1.5 day job, but it took longer than that because of summer vacations, uncooperative weather (lots of rain this year), and illnesses. Losing one guy on one job cascaded to other jobs. Hopefully his small business can grow to a point where this is less of a problem in the future."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Burlington, MA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
