"We had water damages recently in April. After water restoration was done, we need to hire someone to repair our condo. The repairing job was not very big, but included many different works, such as drywall in both master bed room and master bath room, painting, install new cabinet in master bath room.... We have contacted many companies, some company can't meet our schedule, some company can only do drywall and painting. Some company's price was too expensive. We are very lucky to find Mr. Chu from Angle's list. He can do all these work with very reasonable price. Mr. Chu did excellent job for us! We can't even tell anything was done in the new repaired drywall. Mr. Chu not only has great skills to do so many different work, also he is a honest, reliable and hardworking person. He always responded my text or call. We will definitely hire him again for our next job! Thank you Mr. Chu for your wonderful work! Julie"

"A+ Pro-Tech did an excellent job for a very fair price. Bruce and his crew were all very professional and highly skilled. They all clearly take pride in doing the job well, and it shows in the results. It's hard to believe there was ever any damage (although there certainly was) because the area looks so great after they finished. I would definitely call them again in the future."

"The electrical specialist was fast and knew exactly what to do and how to do it. On the other hand the plumbing specialist did not seem to know how to plumb the new kitchen sink and was asking other workers in my kitchen remodel where the cold/hot water lines and did not initially realize he needed a V trap for to reconfigure the sink pipes. When he finally finished nearly 4 hours later and left the sink leaked and had to be called back the next day. He fixed the leak and after he left he forgot to turn on the cold water and only had hot water in the sink. He also installed the faucet the wrong way and had to unscrew and turn it around. I would say if I have electrical work I would not hesitate to call Ren Pro but would definitely pass on any plumbing work. In fairness, they cut the time in half to accommodate for the plumbing mishaps. However, because the plumber left one of his tools, they came back to get it and on the return visit asked for a quote for some other work. They never got back to me."

"I've used Melby 4 times now in the past 2 months.  He always shows up on time, cleans up after his work and does a stellar job!
I've referred him to some clients and they are equally pleased.  He is honest and trustworthy.  Great job, great work ethic and very reasonable pricing!  Highly recommend.  I wish I could post photos of the work he did... it turned out gorgeous!

"He called towards the end of the scheduled repair day and was unable to arrive that day. When the work was described he advised he had no pieces of drywall on his truck, the expectation being the customer would provide all materials. He even asked if I had any "drywall mud", and when I said no he advised he probably had some he could use. Rescheduled for the following Monday with an understanding he would bring a small piece of drywall. On Monday a different person arrived and performed the work. The drywall repair on the stairway railway created an 6"X6" flat patch amidst a textured drywall surface. Very prominenet, no attempt was made to blend the patched area so that the surface would have a textured appearance.

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in Cal-nev-ari, NV

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
