"Dave left the panel going into my crawlspace open when he installed my AC unit. I didn't know this until I found myself with rodents in my walls 3 months later. I got 2 quotes to get rid of the rodents and the lower one was $880. I contacted Dave and he apologized and offered to pay for half, but after paying a quarter of it, he ghosted me. If he does a job for you, make sure your home is sealed up before he calls it complete and you pay him!"

"made an appointment because the price quoted to me to diagnose my issue was $89 plus tax, if any repairs are made that would be additional. technician spent 15 min in attic to determine nothing was wrong and then spent remaining time speculating what it could be. After all was said and nothing done my bill came to $307. Technician indicated that it was an extended diagnostic visit. I was shocked and appalled! No tools were used, no repairs were done just the technician speculating on my dime. Contacted the main office and Eva said she would refund me $89 by check. It's gouging and dishonest. If I had known i was being charged by the hour, I guarantee he would have been out of my house 20 mins after he arrived. Im considering contacting the BBB and the attorney general if this is not resolved satisfactorily. I have no problem paying the diagnostics charge of $89 plus tax but not the extended portion."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"He did an excellent job repairing the areas of my deck that another contractor had poorly installed. The cost was reasonable and he knew exactly the correct way to take care of the problems. I would hire him again with confidence."

"I wish I could give less than 1 star. This company took my money and conducted an audit, and after repeated requests on my end for the results and repeated promises on their end to give the results and a promise of a refund, have yet to do so in the 7+ months since the audit was conducted. This was after a multiple month wait on their wait-list to get the energy audit in the first place. I know this company has stellar reviews, but this has been one of the worst experiences with a business I've ever had."

"Tony and his son Kenny are very good at both fixing stuff and doing quality and sophisticated painting jobs. We have a lot of fine wood to maintain inside and out. The Arnolds keep it looking like new. Tony has been our painter and maintainer for over 20 years! Couldn’t do it without them."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Camas, WA

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
