"Outstanding job by H&R in the waterproofing my basement on February 16. It was Providence as 10 days later a water line in front of my house burst sending thousands of gallons of water cascading toward my house and against the walls of the basement that were waterproofed. The internal french drain and sump pump performed as described by H&R and my basement stayed dry as a bone. We would definitely recommend this business. H&R stands far above other competing basement waterproofers in their honesty and work."

"I had called several different companies and received multiple different quotes on what could be done to resolve the water issue I was experiencing in my basement. I had multiple estimates that had a wide variety of prices and solutions. After reviewing and researching the companies, I had decided to hire Advanced Basement Solutions, and it was the best decision I could have made!!!! They are family owned and operated, which I loved about them and they do not use any subcontractors. Their pricing was very reasonable and I just had a wonderful feeling about this company before even the work was started. My whole experience with this company was nothing but positive! The office staff was kind, courteous and professional, the inspector they had sent was very knowledgable, kind and explained in detail with photos on what would be done for the installation and the crew they had sent to perform the installation was very polite, courteous and worked very diligently. If you are looking for an awesome company to have your basement waterproofed or foundation repaired I HIGHLY recommend Advanced Basement Solutions!! Thank you so much for giving me peace of mind with a dry basement!!"

"First of all, I want to thank EverDry for giving me a waterproof basement. The guys worked hard for 5 days and did such heavy, messy work. I can't imagine such hard labor for 5 days at my house and then, very soon, going on to another job that was just as physically taxing. Steve did a great job covering the floors and my belongings with plastic to make sure, every day, that everything was still covered. And whoever did the encapsulation underneath the steps going down to the basement did a stellar job. There was some tweaking to do with the rest of the encapsulation so they came back to work on it and now it looks great. They'll be coming back to smooth out the dirt and remove stones and pebbles underneath the front porch, the front lawn and around the perimeter of the house when the weather is more predictable. Matthew, the owner, was even kind enough to pay for boarding 2 of my kitties that would have gotten underfoot that week. The guys were here January 8-12. Unfortunately, the process of digging up and unplugging the down spout drain was not explained to me, whereby the run-off pipe could be connected to it, taking the water under the sidewalk and onto the street. Instead, the pipe was routed up the basement wall and connected to a pipe outside that they placed 10 inches or so underground, stopping at the edge of a small embankment overlooking the sidewalk. When the foreman showed me what had been done, I knew it wasn't right. I knew that water would spill out of the pipe, directly onto the sidewalk. The next morning, January 13, ice was covering a good part of the sidewalk and I had to call the City to quickly have 3 orange cones placed on the ice. I called a plumber and they came over immediately to have this corrected. The only thing that could be done was to reroute the sump pump line to the sewer drain, which is allowed where I live. As I stated, I didn't have it routed to the down spout drain as it had not been explained to me; I didn't know it had to be dug up and unplugged. A week later, Roy, the Project Manager, came up to assess all that had gone on. He made a list of all that needed to be done. I had a friend with me, a retired contractor, and he heard all that was said between Roy and me. I asked Roy to pay the plumber bill for rerouting the sump pump line to the main drain. He agreed to pay it and my friend will wholeheartedly vouch for that. Roy and I continued to talk about other issues, eventually summarizing what was discussed. I asked him again about the bill. I remember that he lowered his head, shut his eyes briefly, nodded yes and said yes, to confirm that he would pay the bill. I asked him if I should email the invoice to Matthew and he said, no, that he had a separate email address for the Service Department, which he gave me. I remember writing it on the paper I had in my hand. I emailed the invoice to him that same day, January 22, using the Service Department address. I would never have known to use that email address if Roy hadn't given it to me, I have the email to prove it. Therefore, I was surprised to receive a past due bill from the plumber. I sent an email to Accounting, Matthew and Roy, thinking that perhaps their payment and the past due bill crossed in the mail. Roy called me and stated that he never said he would pay the bill. I very nicely disagreed; I didn't want to argue. I was going to let it go entirely but it wouldn't be right if I did. I called and emailed Matthew this week to discuss, I still hope to hear from him. Roy also thought that I was asking him to pay to have the down spout drain dug up and unplugged. I never asked him to pay that and I would never expect him to do so; that is my responsibility. On February 2, when Matthew fully explained to me the procedure involving the down spout drain, I had the work done, EverDry came up February 19, connected it all, the run-off is going under the sidewalk and onto the street. I would like nothing better than to have the aforementioned bill paid and a good relationship with EverDry."

"The employees that arrived to do the work were good workers. They were either unaware of the contracted work or mislead. They were not going to install the J Channel per the service agreement, and they had planned to backfill the ditch with the earth they had removed. The contract called for the ditch to be filled to surface with gravel. The installers called the office and explained that a J Channel was agreed on and someone from the office delivered it to satisfy my request. They were going to install the J Channel in segments vs one solid piece across the length of the ditch. I told them the segment seems would allow the water to get thru the J Channel and weep thru our foundation once more. They did the work as I requested but had I not been there or had I been a customer that did not know any better, this job would not have been done correctly or as agreed upon in the contract."

"Absolutely miraculous job! They turned our wet nightmare dungeon into a perfectly dry basement! Highest recommendation! We got floor drains, sheeting over our stone foundation, a sump pump and floor drain at basement door. Work was fast, professionally and was exactly what the basement needed."

"Bakers Waterproofing is an excellent Basement Company! I had water and foundation issues in my basement which needed attention. Kris was the service advisor that came out recently and he was prompt, friendly, and very thorough! Kris explained in detail to me the issues with my basement and offered various options for mitigation and repair of my water and structural issues. Kris was honest about the scope of their work and left the decisions up to me about what I thought I could afford and handle at this time. A few years ago, I had Bakers Waterproofing do some work for me in another part of the basement. Jessie was my service advisor at that time and he was also excellent! He was able to locate the immediate source of water coming into the basement from a spring outside. He showed me all the issues with my basement, however I chose to take care of part of the basement as the other part was not crucial at that time. Jessie even found a bowing wall that other companies did not find or address. I highly recommend Bakers Waterproofing!"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Canonsburg, PA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
