"I have rain water undermining the driveway near my attached garage. I reasoned that pumping a supporting substance would not only fill in the "undermined soil", the substance forced in under pressure would also support the concrete driveway. The inspector informed me that my theory would not work and that what I needed was pea gravel inserted into the hole created by the drainage. He seemed quite competent and I accepted his assessment. It was refreshing to have a candid answer rather than "we can do it" even though the attempt would not have solved my issue"

"The inspector, TJ, and the crew manager, Elias, were both both courteous, straightforward, and knowlegeable. The work was done well and on time. Their pricing was quite a bit lower than the other companies, although, it seems to me, still expensive for the time and materials involved."

"Medina’s Concrete is both professional, courteous, and honest from beginning to end. Mr. Medina sticks to his quotes even if it means doing additional work and/or money coming out of his own pocket. How Mr. Eduardo coordinated multiple concrete delivery trucks and did the work to get the job done on schedule was very impressive. Even when the heavy concrete delivery trucks left deep grooves in our back lawn, Medina employees used the removed top soil to patch up and fill the grooves. Cleaning up after the job was very thorough. My wife and I are proud of the finished work he and his employees have done for us. I would definitely recommend his company to anyone looking for 5 star work!"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Carrboro, NC

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
