"We bought a home that unfortunately had 2 units over 20 years old. We received a letter and coupon from Service Star for annual maintenance (addressed to previous owner). We had not been having any issues with our AC but thought maintenance was pretty important, especially with summer coming. Louis came out on Tuesday, April 28th and did a thorough inspection of our units. He was very friendly, engaging and we felt confident and convinced that he was quite knowledgeable in this field. Turns out there were big issues with our unit including the huge mold issue, coil issue, fire hazard issues, etc. (yikes!). Our units were working pretty hard and getting pretty hot and there was zero efficiency going on. Basically, the life of our units had come to an end. We opted to replace the units and he gave us a pretty good deal which included upgrading the digital thermostats (pretty awesome!). My husband is a vet so there was a nice discount I appreciated how he explained everything to us and outlined what replacing the units entailed. We were pleasantly surprised that they had the units available and could start the work that day! There was a two-person crew that came in around 3:30 and was completely done and cleaned up by 10:30 pm. No small project. They were professional, competent and worked diligently to completion. We were quite impressed and what a big difference in the quality of air! We can say enough good things about Service Star, we definitely recommend them for all HVAC needs. GREAT job Service Star. "Would give 6 stars if I could! Tim was very helpful in finding an AC unit that would work best for my apartment while saving me money, which I greatly appreciate. Tim did not try to sell me a more expensive unit and was straightforward when I asked him about different sizes and efficiency ratings, helping me get the best deal while also having an AC unit that runs perfectly. As a full time college student, having to replace my AC is a huge financial burden, and Tim’s prices and service far exceeded that of bigger companies in the area who I also called for a quote, i.e. ARS & Frank Gay. Tim & AJ explained everything being done in a way that made sense, and worked around my complicated schedule. They also took extra time and effort to figure out a way to install the compressor on the roof of my building without having to rent a crane, which saved me a considerable amount of money for this job. The new unit works even better than the last one ever did, and the job was completed quickly. I greatly appreciate their friendliness, flexibility and excellent service and will be using RAIR’s services again in the future. "The tech who came out to re-evaluate what another HVAC company told me was a defective central A/C compressor, re-tested the start capacitor and determined that it, and not the compressor, was defective. He replaced the capacitor, and the system has been working just fine without replacing what was still a good compressor - saved us over $1,400 (which is what the first company quoted to replace the compressor)."

"My car air condition system was blowing warm air, so I went to local store & purchased an ac charge kit (includes R134A refrigerant, gage, & hose). I installed it according to directions & it worked for a couple days, then started blowing warm air again, so now I am thinking the worst, leak, compressor, etc.. I stopped in Dave Johnson's Automotive to make an appointment, & Dave asked me if I had time & he would check the ac system right then & I said sure. He had his mechanic check out the system, then recharged it with a dye to help detect leaks. Sent me home & told me to run ac system as much as possible & bring it back in 3 days or before if it starts blowing warm air. The ac system never ran better & did not blow warm air. After 3 days I returned & Dave did a black light inspection for leaks & found none. Dave could have easily sold me the "Brooklyn Bridge" !!!  But he didn't, Dave was honest, fair, & gave me a little education on my ac system. Great job Dave & thanks.
