Insulating the exterior walls of our two story, 1700 sq ft house, involved drilling holes between each stud, blowing in insulating material, plugging the holes, spackling over the holes, priming and finally painting the holes.  Two man crew was very efficient in setting up scaffolding and then doing the work described.  We got a chance to see what the insulation looks like inside the wall when the force of the insulation popped out a built-in bookcase that was not secured.  Its a solid blanket of insulation, filling in the entire space.   Very impressive.  The results have been very noticeable.  The house feels more comfortable, and the heater turns on less frequently.  We should have done this years ago. 

Last part of the project was to blow additional insulation into the attic, which went very quickly.  Overall, the project took 2 very long afternoons/evenings to complete.  It makes a mess around the outside of the house, but they did a good job of cleaning up each day.

"We realized over the weekend that we had a serious problem that needed to be addressed immediately after hearing some tapping/biting sounds around a ceiling speaker in the master bedroom during the weekend of January 20. I found the Attic Pros ad on Sunday night and called to schedule an inspection appointment on Monday, 1/22, and was able get one for 11am - 1pm on Tuesday, 1/23. Asad (Asaullah) called at 11:10am and left me a voicemail saying that he would be to my house in ~25 minutes. He arrived at ~11:30am ready and prepared to do the inspection after asking some questions and I showed him the access doors to the roof and side attic spaces that needed to be looked at. He completed the inspections, showed me some pictures of what he had found, and let me know what options we had to address the rodent problem. One was the lower cost option which included cleaning up the droppings, setting traps, cleaning up as much as possible, but would have us keeping the existing blown foam insulation and trying to find as many potential entry points as possible to patch up. I decided on the second, higher priced option, which removed all of the original blown foam, a thorough clean up and disinfecting of the areas, wire mesh blocking of all potential entry points, traps to catch any remaining live rodents, and installation of new rolled fiberglass insulation. We set up the the two appointment dates for Thursday, 1/25, and Monday, 2/5. The teams arrived on time both days, put down floor covering from the front door to the attic entry closet and isolating plastic sheets in the master bedroom going out to the second floor deck. They ran the big suction hose off the deck, and were able to keep the front door closed as much as possible, as I had asked them because of the current neighborhood rodent problem caused by the new housing development construction going on down the hill from my house. The teams worked both of the two originally scheduled days and got the jobs completed between 4:30pm and 6pm, so that it was not necessary to come back the next day to finish. I paid half of the original cost estimate following both days of work as agreed. Overall, the entire process was great, beginning from the easy and quick scheduling of the initial inspection by Asad, and getting work started two days later. Everyone was very professional, and I believe did a great job. I would definitely recommend Attic Pros to all of my neighbors that I am sure are experiencing similar problems."

"I met with Milo (Field Tech/Sales) and he was great to explain their service and what I should expect. He provided an emailed quote to me on the spot as well as a copy of their insurance documents, bus. license number and proof of their "Diamond Certified" status. We had terrible rat problems in the attics and inner walls and needed to have our old insulation removed, attics sanitized, the entire crawl space/attic perimeters, and tops and bottoms (in attics and under crawl spaces) of interior walls rat proofed with small mesh wire and expanding foam. Also had mesh wire installed behind the crawl space openings that we could pretty easily still remove and replace when we have to get into the crawl spaces. Once we decided to go with Atticare I asked Milo to please send out a well-experienced, thorough crew to rid us of the severe rat problems as we were literally getting rat mite bites. He sent out Danis and his team to do the job which was for aprox. 1900 sq. ft., one-story, duplex. The team of about six fellas arrived on time, and immediately went to work. They did have some initial problems with the large vacuum machines. One would not start and one did not work at all. We had jumper cables though and they quickly got one going and went to another job site nearby to get a second vacuum machine. I thought they would not get done in one day because of the delay but the guys worked very diligently to get the job done and completed the job in one day as initially mentioned by Milo. I was present for the job which REALLY helped as I could easily communicate to Danis where we were really seeing the rat chewing damage, where we thought they were getting into and around the underside of the house crawlspace, and what wall they were really making a lot of noise in. Danis said I made his job a lot easier because I was present to alert them of problems we were having and where. So if you can be home to provide any "heads-up" on the specific problems/areas you are having the rat problems I think it really helps. Danis showed me before and after pictures throughout the job. Allena, the office mgr., emailed the pictures to me after the job was complete (and even called me on a Sunday, to remind me of my appointment which was early Monday morning). The fellas did very nice neat work and even covered areas with plastic sheeting in the garage where they had to crawl up to access the attics. Clean-up was perfect. The fellas worked well together too. I would definitely recommend Atticare/Milo/Allena and Danis' crew as the whole experience was excellent. Their price quote was very good too, compared to another "Diamond Certified" company that I received a quote from. I found everyone to be very professional and courteous. It has been a week since our service appointment and we haven't had any rats return! Thank you Atticare for a job well-done."
