"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"Brian came to our home to do a tub to shower installation. He was very respectful and reviewed what he would be doing. The project was completed within the time frame we were told. Again, he reviewed what he had done and how to properly care for the shower. It really looks great and we are looking forward to using it. Thank you Brian and rite window team. Respectfully Leslie Greeley Brewster Ma"

"When a Horrific windstorm hit our neighborhood this past Tuesday, it collapsed a 100yr old Maple on our Bunk House roof and blew off quite a few Tile from the main house roof; which resulted in us taking on water in several areas as well as present dangerous conditions for our neighbors if the tree were to shift. In all the chaos, I think I must of called 20-30 contractors of various specialties. I had left mesgs, talked to owners, sent emails, ect., RMS was the one and only contractor, besides 1 Tree Service Co. That called me back and was there the same day. After reading the reviews on HomeAdvisor, I knew we found our crew. Even though our project is just beginning, I'm very confident that its going to be smooth and as painless as possible with Rick and his crew. While assessing the damage to our Terra-cotta Tile roof, they noticed my gutters were completely clogged and flooded. They did not hesitate to quickly dive in and fix the problem immediately, which would of taken a whole afternoon had I been forced to add it to my chore list. I thought that was pretty AWESOME, being that at this point we hadn't even hired them for the job yet. GOOD PEOPLE and I look forward to working with them."

Small jobs welcome

"Perfect! We had a wonderful experience with Champion Kitchen. From the beginning meeting with Steve with a beautiful design, to our installers who were so polite, clean, respectful, and professional. They worked so hard all day. The pricing was very fair and within 3 weeks I had a beautiful kitchen. I would not choose anyone else but Champion Kitchens. Thank you Steve for making by dream kitchen come true."

"As with any job of this magnitude in an older structure, we had a handful of surprises. They were not totally unexpected surprises, but you just can't see behind walls and into floors until you start ripping things apart. We moved everything! The toilet, tub, and sink; plumbing was rerouted and the walls and ceiling were removed. The floor joists, electrical, and old plumbing from the ghost of remodeling past were a scary mess, but Jamin tamed the whole undesirable concoction. Once we had a solid foundation from which to work we hit a few snags with delivery schedules. This job was performed during Covid and shipping was just bogged down from everything from our vanity to simple hardware. I do recommend having a predetermined schedule for fixtures, materials, and other finish items before getting started. It can really stretch out a job when the process is redirected or halted based on missing pieces to the puzzle. Since Jamin started this job quite suddenly when another job had an unexpected pause for this very same reason, we didn't have a full grasp of how quickly we needed to make significant design decisions. Between, the anticipation of the unknown, and the horrid wait time for all deliveries you have the worst of our entire experience. So, now let's move on to the fun stuff. Jamin, and a number of subs and helpers contributed to giving us a really lovely space. I actually assisted him with some demo, and framing because I have a background in carpentry. Part of me wanted to quit my office job and go to work for Jamin it was so much fun. He is a truly fine person from a hard working family with two small ones at home. My wife and I had a chance to do some of the finish work on an exposed brick wall, and a retro-fitted window. Everything blended very well in the end and Jamin had no reservations about letting us be involved. The real highlight of Jamin's craftsmanship comes through in his finish work and especially his tile work. When we searched for a contractor we honed in on Jamin because of the intricacy of tile work we could see from he pictures on Angie's List. He did not disappoint. We had a general sense of design, and were able to communicate it to him. His knack for joining corners and moving into other transitionary spaces really amplified the spirit of what we were trying to accomplish. Jamin's original estimate was considerably lower than another we had received. He also planned on a much more involved project than the other folks. In the end, as we were informed, some additional costs did come up. We felt like some costs could have been avoided ultimately but overall the job was completed for much less than others had predicted. The job length was about 6 weeks and this too we thought could have been shortened with a bit more understanding on our part for how things flowed with deliveries of fixtures etc. It has been several months since the completion of the job and my wife and I still find ourselves just standing in the space admiring the craftsmanship and beauty of what Jamin was able to pull off. We are grateful for his time and professionalism. Not only would I hire Jamin again, I count him a friend and brother in Christ!"

"Eric and Jamie did a great job with the electrics on our house and my husband and I would recommend them without reservation. Eric was the main electrician and he did an excellent job both with the electrics and patching the walls / ceiling after the lights were installed and new switches put in.  The new fuse box was installed without fuss -- it was mounted beautifully and all the switches were labelled (something which our old box wasn't).
Eric was easy to talk to and work with. He communicated well and talked us through what he was doing as he went and why. The only slight problem we had was actually getting to the point where we could arrange to get a quote. That seemed to take some time with missed calls and some unanswered emails.  That said, once we were in touch, communication was good.
Eric was enthusiastic about his work and clearly takes pride in a job well done.  He won't hesitate to tell you that he does a good job, and please believe it!  I wasn't sure when I first met Eric how the job would end up but he's really as good as gold. He pays good attention to detail, does what he says he'll do, and is honest about the work and costs.  Eric and Jamie were easy to work with and made what could have been a stressful time for us really easy. We really are very pleased and would love to have Eric and co back if he'll have us!
Thanks Eric! Thanks Jamie!  The lights look amazing!!

"Found Ray from Angie's List reviews.  Wow, we were not disappointed at
all.  Ray was very quick to get the job done.  We had a new 200 amp
service completed.  The setup required a separate disconnect outside.
We also had a new sub panel and new outlet for laundry done as Ray
recommended for our out of code existing wiring.  I have worked with my
brother who was an electrician before he passed away, so I am familiar
with electrical practices and code.
Our 200 amp service was not
the easiest to complete.  Ray and his assistant were absolutely
phenomenal, professional, and trustworthy.  Ray went out of his way to
make sure the other wiring was safe and up to code.  He replaced some
box covers at no charge and "cleaned up" some other things.  He charged
us exactly what he quoted us.
Service panels should be a work of
art that the electrician takes pride in.  Clearly Ray feels the same
way.  The guys cleaned up after themselves, and left nothing for us to
finish.  Ray and his assistant were very down to earth guys that have
left a tremendously good impression.  I will definitely recommend them
to others.  This is precisely why I signed up for Angie's List.

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Champion, PA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
