Customers say: Quality work

"We had an old cast iron flange that needed to be replaced. The flange was completely rusted and the toilet could no longer be screwed down. Petros expressed exactly what needed to be done to fix the issue and came prepared with a new cast iron flange. The full cost of the job was $700 which is exactly what he gave for an estimate. He was very professional and the work was completed within two hours of arrival. We highly recommend Petros and would call him again for plumbing work!"

"The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality. I have no other complaints."

"I had two jobs one was very good as the senior plumber installed the new water line for fridge for the regular price and brought the connection valve which I asked for and hooked it up the second day. The second job to install the toilet was done by a young man. It leaked from the toilet right away. They came back and the senior plumber tightened things up. It did not work and they have not responded. With toilet fluids leaking onto me good floor. I hired another plumber who took the toilet off the floor and showed me the broken flange that should have been replaced. Toilet was sitting on it and having been separated from old toilet was stuck to it most probably. It was no good. He came back and changed it and reinstalled the toilet. It does not leak. That should have been obvious to any untrained eye. A plumber would have seen it. The young man was getting trained. The senior plumber should have taken toilet off.

"Really difficult to communicate with via phone and text. Never gave me an invoice for the work which I asked for 5 times before giving up. Was difficult to schedule the actual appointment in the first place. The job was completed, although after the fact I noticed the toilet was loose at the base, but that could be a small complaint. It was just so hard to get a firm day for the work scheduled and I kept having to call them back. Ignoring me when I asked for an invoice was the final straw. Difficult to schedule and poor communication. On the plus side, the price was the lowest I could find and the workmanship seemed fine."

"Provider was prompt and professional in setting up appointment, coming to house, and providing quote. Did not use provider as quote seemed a bit high and we decided to hold off on upgrading the plumbing for now.

"One night around 10:30 I happened to notice water leaking out of somewhere in my boiler room. I panicked and called Damaso Plumbing. This is the first time I called them and Brian called me back immediately and was out at my house within 30 minutes to stop the leak. It ended up being my expansion tank that had corroded and sprung a leak. Brian was able to use a temporary tank to get me through the night with heat and hot water until the next day when he returned with a new tank. Brian was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend him to others and I will be using him again myself."

"The contractor added a second floor to an existing home. The addition consisted of: adding  a  TV /Family room, a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a master bathroom. Remodeled our kitchen, replacing our old tile floor with hardwood floor, added new deck and a sun-room. Overall, My wife and I are very happy with the quality of the work, and manner in which Mr. Ivaldo; the Owner; conducted his crew and performed the tasks at hand. I would highly recommend him and definitely would use him again.

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Charlestown, MA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
