"While such work is not cheap, Terra Firma stayed with us throughout, including during some delays based on obtaining permits here in Oregon, so that wasn't their fault. The work was outstanding, with a three-person crew putting in three very busy days in cold and wet weather to drive 17 reinforcing titanium piers around roughly half the perimeter of the foundation, with most of them extending clear down to bedrock. They also managed to raise both sliding corners of the house, from slopes of about 1.5" (4 cm) on either corner, back to their original level, which amazed us (we were hoping to have just stabilization, with the possibility of raising the foundation just partway). The house sits on a very steep slope leading down to a creek, and years of slow but noticeable "sliding down the hill" are now not only corrected, but the whole foundation is now as level as when it was constructed 25 years ago. Perhaps needless to say, we're thrilled with the results. "Decided on a price that included prep, materials, and the pouring of the concrete. the day before the pour the guy came by to prep the areas and he showed up with what looked to be 2 of his sons that were under 14 years old. But what ****** me off was him telling me that it would cost extra to get rid of extra debris from him leveling the areas, an extra ($200). I told him no way and to figure somewhere else to dump it. I believe he either paid the concrete guy to much or was unhappy the day before I wasn't willing to pay for a dump run that he should have quoted me. I handed him some spare cash I had and he left. I Learned when paying cash. Have the guy count the money in front of you to make sure you don't get screwed."

"To begin with, this project was complicated, and I was grateful that H. was willing to work with us.  I feel that the work that was completed was well done and done correctly.  We paid nearly double of the original estimate.  Had we known it was going to cost so much, we may have made different decisions. But there were serious complications that could not have been expected or planned for.  H. did a great job of leading us through the process and trying to make us feel comfortable with the decisions that we were making.  There were a few hiccups with some of the subcontractors and the time of year.  I wish that the project could have started on time--instead of so late in the year, and I would ask for different subcontract concrete workers in the future as they were unprofessional and made our neighbors uncomfortable.  They poured a crooked retaining wall--setting our project back--and I have been less then impressed with how the concrete sealing looks in our carport.  H. was aware of this and did his best to bring them up to standard.  However, the other subcontractors working with H. and his team were very professional and courteous.  The electricians were prompt and efficient, and H. employees were hardworking.  I enjoyed having them in my home.  One of the windows was left unwrapped--mostly due to the fact that there was a lot going on in this project and it just got overlooked.  H. eventually had someone come out and finish the details at no extra cost to us.
