"We met Tim the owner at the Homeowner show at the Convention Center. Surprised at how personable he was. Cynthia, who handles customer service was very amiable and eager to help. Ryan, the service representative came out and gave us an estimate of a new HVAC system, since ours had died at the colder time this year.we accepted the bid and Ryan came out started the prep work. System was installed in one day. Ryan came out the next day to check everything. We concluded our business and we have wonderful heat. I cannot sing their praises enough. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Please Stay away from this company because there flat out SCAMMERS. There isn’t any other simple way to put this and I thank God I have ring cameras inside and out my home along with the surrounding areas because this company tried to charge me for a service they didn’t even perform. It started off with me calling Area 757 heating and cooling Friday night around 9pm. According to what they falsely advertise on google it says they offer 24/7 service which that was the first lie. They did answered my call but scheduled me an appointment for Saturday morning @ 9am. I thought no biggie but the next day the technician showed up an hour late to my house and I even had to call for an ETA. Need I remind you I was not physically present my fiancé was home while I had to work this day but I could have see and hear the technicians every move from outside and inside my home. When the technicians arrived he stayed all but 11 mins. From my outside camera the recording shows the technician unscrew and open my HVAC unit cover he look inside touch some wires without tool and examine the unit then got to his truck came back and put the cover back on. He did not replace a part or nothing all he did was simply took the unit cover off then fastened the cover back on. He then proceeded to came inside of the house turned on the thermostat to cool and set it to the desired settings and told my fiancé he replaced the AC capacitor (lie) and to wait 30 minutes for the temperature to start dropping to our desired setting. Now this is the 2nd lie cause I had a brand new capacitor put in from Atlantic heating and cooling last year. She waited then called back about 2 hours later to let the technician know that the house still feels the same. So the technician proceeded to tell her that our fan motor is out. Now wait what… This is where eyebrows began to raise because why did you say you replace a capacitor (lie) when you know the fan motor is out then proceeded to have the ac running for the unit to go bad. When my fiancé told me the news I immediately looked at the cameras and watched the recording to see what work was done and looked back on my emailed receipt from Atlantic heating and cooling to make sure what part I paid for brand new last year. What’s mind boggling is not only did this technician lie about a part he never put in and do the work but he tried to get over on a woman who he taught didn’t have a clue about and HVAC system and that’s what bothers me because they tried to get over on her when I wasn’t home. But my cameras don’t lie. I called 757 heating and cooling to explain to them what I seen but the employee started to get very unprofessional by yelling to get his point across. When he should’ve been trying to understanding the customer not the customer trying to understand him. First the logic isn’t even right they said they put in a ac capacitor but didn’t put in a fan motor then came in the house and left the ac on. That’s like me putting a brand new battery in my car knowing that my alternator is bad and it’ll drain my battery. This is the type of unknowledgeable/ unprofessional that can honestly go to a different level with me because not only did they not do there jobs but this company tried to get over like my fiancé and I are stupid. They did not charge me cause I caught this company in a complete lie and I made sure to call my bank and put a block on the payment. There after I called Atlantic heating and cooling which where very professional came in 10 min and they found out the real problem which I was low on refrigerant. They charged it up for me and I was very appreciative after dealing with such shallow money, hungry individuals that knows nothing about HVAC. Long story short buy surveillance cameras, because the small companies will try to get you for all that you got, and it’s ridiculous that they are scamming people like you and me. And go to a reputable company like Atlantic, heating and cooling. Area 757 are blood sucking leeches"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Chesapeake, VA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
