"VERY impressed with the work and overall professionalism of Coast to Coast. From the proposal/quote stage all the way through payment, everything was fully communicated, executed quickly, and delivered with the utmost attention to detail —probably 2-3 weeks from first contact to finished work. They fixed the tuck pointing on our very old, crumbling limestone foundation and installed 3 glass brick windows. Ricky went into great detail, spelling out what was required for a quality installation which would endure the test of time. He talked about the depth of excavation required, the quality of gravel and sand to be used and the compaction process they employ. Ricky was also good helping us in making the best selection of the type of brick and color design. And when I changed my mind on the layout after the job was completed, he agreed to make the change at no additional charge. "Star Tuckpointing did superb work on our recent masonry project. The lintels above the windows in the octagon at the front of our 80+ year old bungalow were rusted and deteriorating, causing the bricks to shift and, ultimately, leading to water leakage into the living room ceilings. Star Tuckpointing was the only vendor I spoke with who, right off the bat, offered to clean and reuse the original brick. That's huge for repairs to an older building as there is no way to match those classic bricks. That endeared these guys to me right away. But it was the experience of having the work done that tells me I made the right choice. Star Tuckpointing is a family run and operated business - the crew consisted of father and sons, uncles and cousins, and the attention to detail and pride in their work exhibited is notable. The reconstruction is seamless. They installed new windows and rebuilt the wall, the octagon parapet and decorative cap stones. The mortar is a darn near perfect match. The cleaned and reused bricks look great. They replaced a poorly designed downspout with a new scupper box and replaced the roofing behind the parapet with new materials, work that looks better than it must've when the building was brand new. I'm confident that we'll have no more water issues. In addition to the parapet rebuild, the crew went around and spot tuckpointed all the various cracks, touched up the brick arches above window openings, etc. Everything looks great! We had originally intended to forego rebuilding the original stone retaining wall for the garden along the front of the house, after all, it's just a garden wall, nothing structural or that would cause any immediate problems, but after having the other work done, the cracked and leaning wall looked so bad compared to the beautiful new front of the building that we added it on. Now the home looks fantastic! The work was performed quickly and efficiently. The site was cleaned up after each and every day's work. It was a delight to have these guys on the job and if the need for other masonry work arises in the future, I know I have only one call to make. "I cannot say enough about what a great experience we had overall with John Construction. <br /> Jan responded to my email inquiry immediately, and he was patient with my emails back and forth trying to find the best time to come out and give an estimate. When I finally found a good time for him to come out, he arrived on time and did a very thorough and honest inspection and assessment of the work that needed to be done. Rather than include more work than needed to be done, he explained that he only needed to grind out the damaged brick and would use a mortar to match the mortar that was still in good condition. (We had water damage from a leaky roof, so the damage was not widespread on the home.) <br /> He sent over his estimate via email that same evening, and it was MORE than reasonable. I had secured estimates from other companies before John Construction came out; whereas a couple of the other estimates were a few hundred dollars more, one of the previous estimates was over double what Jan offered - which was reasonable and fair. Having to schedule based on my summer pay schedule, he was once again patient with finding a date to come out and do the work. <br /> Jan and his partner came out on the scheduled date (a Saturday) - they arrived on time and were very professional, introducing the partner by name and ensuring that we knew exactly what would be done to the house. They got to work right away with the grinding, which took about 3 hours. They followed with a thorough clean up of the dust and then got right to work with the tuckpointing. Each time we came outside to see the progress, they both stopped and gave us an overview of how things were going; once again, very friendly and professional. When they finished a very long and hot day of work, their clean-up job was impeccable, especially considering the messy job that the grinding entails! <br /> Since we weren't home when they finished and left, Jan sent an email to follow up to ensure that we were happy with the work. Overall, I can't say enough about John Construction and our experience with them. We will undoubtedly go to them in the future for all of our masonry needs!"

"From beginning to end, the quality of the initial consultation with Hynek, the cost of the estimate, the tear down and rebuild was outstanding. The men who did the tear down came on time and worked tirelessly to maximize their efforts at the house. The gentleman who performed the rebuild were high quality craftsman-masons who really know how to work with concrete and bluestone. I was very impressed with their attention to detail. The guys took their time and worked meticulously placing the stones in a symmetrical pattern. I am thrilled with the final outcome. My front stoop which is pretty big is now a stunning, strong and solid rebuild that will last for years. Thanks Hynek."
