"Matt did a thorough and thoughtful job, improving our simple design and building it quickly. He discovered a leaky window above the deck, and replaced the window and repaired the water damaged wall. All in all, we were very happy!"

"I hired Gilbert to remodel my guest bathroom in my home. I have used Paz Construction on several projects for design clients of mine and I am incredibly happy with the quality of the work. He is timely, hard working, he cleans up after ( which believe it or not , not every contractor does ) and delivers excellent service. Highly recommended "

"<p>I am a 61 year old woman, and I have always taken pride in doing things in my home myself.  I used to call myself "handy ma'am" but as I am not getting any younger, I'm ready to turn in my tools and let someone else, i.e. Handyman Jack, perform these services for me.  In the past I have replaced all three bathroom sinks and faucets myself and have done lots of other fixes around the house.  However, more recently I had tried to hang the fireplace mantel shelf myself but messed it up; I had trouble with the bathroom mirror so decided to leave it to someone like Jack; and I couldn't for the life of me get the cabinet doors adjusted properly.  Jack's prices are extremely reasonable in this day and age, and his work is absolutely excellent.  He has two employees to help him with larger jobs but came himself to do this work for me.  I will call him for ALL work in the future and have been singing his praises to my neighbors and friends.  By the way, Jack and I have the same last name, but we are in NO way related, honest!</p> <br />"

"Showed up as scheduled to provide me an estimate. Confirmed that the damage was caused by a leaking shower drain connection, which allowed water to permeate the surrounding subfloor. He also informed me the the drain size wasn't to code. Should be 2" not the existing 1 1/2" inch diameter. Gene provided my with three options with each option increasing in price. Explained the positives and negatives of each option without trying to hard sell me the highest option. I chose the mid level, which didn't include replacing the south facing wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. Gene replaced the the drain pipe with the 2" and installed a new drain/hub. Removed sections of damaged sub flooring- recovered the the whole floor with new subfloor to make it more level ( problem in trailer homes ). Installed new cushioned vinyl flooring and trim. The floor came out looking fabulous !!! My wife just loved it and I appreciated how smooth it looked. I have been in the park maintenance business for 30 years ( recently retired) and I can tell you that I have a lot of experience with both good and bad contractors. I'm happy to say Gene is a good guy who knows his business inside and out and will explain what he is doing without making you feel dumb. He has gained experience in modern mobile homes thru ownership. Most will appreciate no surprise cost increases and his friendly demeanor. He was a pleasure to work with and did what he said he would do when he said he was going to do it.. I know that sounds kind of basic, but you would be surprised how many contractors have problems just performing the basics..Thanks Gene for a job well done!!! <br /> <br />"

"Hawkins has now done two whole-house window replacements for us. This second home is a one-of-a-kind designed Mid-Century Modern classic home, and we have been very fussy about how the windows needed to look in order to retain the essential look and style of the old window styles. Hawkins has been able to provide us with really spectacular replacements. Gary Hawkins, the owner, came personally to look at our home and listen to our concerns, and then was able to select the precise windows we asked for. We find them to be reasonably priced and responsive to concerns. Since they have done multiple jobs for us, we know they do a great job of keeping their customers happy and also hit the "budget-friendly" button, too! This project includes replacing 3 sliding glass doors, (one which is 10 feet wide), 18 windows, (3 of which are 8+ feet wide picture windows), 4 floor-to-ceiling fixed tempered windows, and 3 specialty reeded glass windows."

"I had some issues requiring termite, and they applied orange oil--a very pleasant odor, and I didn't have to move myself, my pet, and food from the house (as with previous years-ago tenting). There was a problem with their subsequent repair work done to the wood, and I asked Dan Haakma, their wood repair specialist, to stop by to ensure the workers took care of everything. Unfortunately, much of the work was not done correctly. I was delighted to see that, instead of discovering this and then rescheduling the work, Dan stayed another 4 hours to complete the work himself--and done beautifully."

"It went fantastic.  They always get someone out to give me an estimate in a day or two.  Their prices are reasonable, and the employees and exceedingly helpful and friendly, from the initial phone call to the service.  Bill has worked on my heater and my A/C, and he is wonderful.  He was willing to look at other problems in my home, and he even put a new belt on my vacuum while he was there!   <br /> They repaired my heater asap because they didn't want me to freeze; I had called another place (I don't know why!) and they said they couldn't even send someone to look at it until the following week. <br /> I highly recommend Hignell. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Chico, CA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
