"Mr. Marlar and his team were a pleasure to work with, and I am so pleased with the final result. We found many unexpected problems as we went along including an extra concrete pad underneath the top one and a concrete border against the house that was so thick that it took a day just to demolish it. Demolishing that thick patio finally took three days that changed the time allotted for the job, but there was never a complaint from him. It naturally raised the cost of the job considering the unknowns in the beginning and what he actually had to do, but I think he was very fair in his pricing. He and his team always arrived on time, worked steadily to get the job done during the day, and cleaned up behind themselves before they left each day. Mr. Marlar was present most of the time to make sure that the work was done properly which made me happy because I have not had that experience with many contractors. Mr. Marlar designed the deck with heavy flashing in place to manage water flow and to prevent any return of the rotting problem. He then graded and prepared the ground where the deck was to be built. He repaired the rotted siding after the deck was completed. I think with confidence that my drainage problems are gone forever, and I don't expect any more rotting to take place. The deck is beautiful, and I have already shown it off. I am including pictures, but consider that with my poor photography skills that they really don't do justice to the quality of the craftsmanship and underpinnings. Since I am so happy with it, I plan to have a wooden balcony on the second floor of a house on my property that has dry rot and possible support issues examined and repaired by Mr. Marlar. I consider it high praise that I would hire him again. I would recommend his company for any construction needs. UPDATE: I just wanted to add to the final paragraph whe I talked about my poor photography skills not showing the craftsmanship and u derpinnings of the deck. I would like to add that 'It also doesn't show just how large this two level deck is. I think I received good value for my money.'"
