".He asked if there were any other items I needed done while he was there.  I had him add a plug receptacle outside in my back yard  and he replaced a good portion of the electrical power box in my house becauese it was no longer up to code.  I checked into it to make sure he wasn't selling me a bill of goods.  It did need to be updated.
It was a lot more than I was planning to spend but I feel like it was the right decision.

"I recently called Kalahari Electrical for a quote on a project. "Jan" was actually willing to negotiate with me over the phone, and I was pleasantly surprised. The price he gave was where I needed to be, and allowed me to make a decision that I will Never regret. When Jan and "Gilead" showed up to do the work I was blown away by what I was seeing. Jan was up on my second story roof doing the work of at least two guys, and Gilead was coordinating all the support Jan needed on the ground. They were very comfortable guys to be around, and even welcomed my 'input' if I had any questions. The job done was absolutely INCREDIBLE, and I am very sincere when I say that .. I know, because I had attempted to do this same project myself, and only got as far as mounting the roof .. period. Then while they were finishing up, and I was applauding their work (almost literally !) both of them began a Clean Up procedure that exceeded anything I personally would have even considered. I had read about their 'clean up' in a few of the reviews, and I can absolutely testify that it. Jan after doing the install took a leave blower, and cleaned sawdust, shingle particles, and a few leaves leaving my roof spotless .. while Gilead picked up every piece of trash that had fallen to the ground ! These two guys are the authentic - Real Deal, and the reason I sound like I 'Drank the Kool-Aid' is because I can't get the taste of it out of my mouth. These Guys are over the top in total Customer Service, and will be the First guys I call in the future for any other projects I need help with. 'Thank You' Jan and Gilead . . you are now two Friends of mine who absolutely did that job as if you were "working on your own homes !". Terry"

"I am only writing this review because Angie's List keeps bugging me to do so. i did not want to review, because most of my problems have also been documented by other customers on here. I should have paid attention. It makes me angry to even think about this again.
I purchased two "deals" for three man hours of landscape clean up.
The contractor was over an hour late for the initial consultation. I had to call and ask whether or not he was coming and the office had to call and remind him. When he showed up, he said he looked at his watch wrong and thought it was actually an hour earlier than it was.
We walked around the property and he made a written list of what I wanted done and what could be included in the deal price. We agreed on a price as well as some additional items that we would pay for that would not be included. He did stipulate that I would have to pay for the landscape cloth as that would not be included in the labor. (He did not say I needed to provide it, just that I would have to pay for it.) I agreed and we set a time for the work to be accomplished.
It rained on that day and the guys knocked on the door and said they couldn't work and the office would call back and reschedule. I called back the next day to reschedule, which ended up being for the week before we left town on vacation.
The guys showed up that next week and wanted me to come outside and show them what needed to be done. They did not have a copy of the estimate or anything that was written down at the initial visit. They did not have landscape cloth and indicated that was usually provided by the client and they didn't keep it on the truck. They would have to come back on *another* day and install it.
So they did half the work on the first day and left a huge five-foot high pile of branches down by the street. I had indicated during the initial consultation that branches would have to be trimmed and bundled in order for the city to collect. Contractor said he would do that and it would be included. I even asked the guys about it while they were working and they assured me they would cut them down and bag or bundle. I cannot even describe the huge mess that was just dumped at the road - it blocked the view of cars turning off of our street. They used two of the landscape waste bags that I provided but left two empty ones lying in the middle of the yard and just got back on the truck and left.
I called the office and - in addition to arranging a time for them to come back to install the landscape cloth, asked them to bundle or bag the yard waste. Customer service person on the phone said they would. We were leaving on vacation that day and the service would take place while we were gone. Returned home from vacation and the landscape cloth and mulch were installed but the yard waste had not been touched. I called *again* to tell them and ask them to remove the branches even if I had to pay for a separate trip because I needed this out of my yard! Guy called me back and said he would come take care of it and set a date to do it. Never showed.
I ended up paying an extra fee to the city to get them to come pick up the branches. Also, several months later, we experienced flooding in our crawlspace, when I went to check around the foundation, I found that the landscape cloth had been placed flush against the house, which left water pooling and then running downhill into the crawlspace access. I spent an entire day digging and ripping it back out.
From now on, I am extremely reluctant to purchase "deals" especially from companies that obviously regularly offer them. Apparently it is because no one will hire them otherwise. I wanted to try this company out to see if their work was good before hiring for a larger landscape project. Now I know that if If I want quality work at all, I will can pay full price for it.  No more "deals."

"Noor Electrical Services is great! Their services are fairly priced, and they also reward customer loyalty with expedient service and an additional small discount, as we found when we hired them again for additional work. Their technicians even installed a piece of drywall (we provided the sheet rock) when our newly installed bathroom appliance, smaller than the previous one, left a gaping hole in the ceiling. We would certainly hire them again and would recommend their services to others!"

"We received a call for a review request from Angie's List on 6/23 and had to cut the call short. We think this abbreviated call may have left some questions unanswered and therefore reduced the overall score Hardscapes received - which wouldn't be fair at all! We have not regretted working w/ them one time and highly recommend the work and wanted to add an additional review to share that (because we find other reviews on Angie's List so helpful when we're making a service professional choice/decision!)."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Clarkston, GA

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
