"Once we agreed to go with JC Construction, they set a date to repair the roof.  On the agreed to date the come out and repaired the roof, but failed to tell us when they would be out to complete the interior work.  After several weeks, they called and set a date to do the interior repair.  They came out on that date and did the interior repair.  The quality of their work was very good, their initial response and repair was prompt and their crews were professional.  Our only issue was the uncertainty regarding the timing of the exterior and interior repair, which in hind sight, I probably could have prevented by contacting them more often."

"Peter was very fast and always prompt. After measuring on a Sunday, he had the custom door made on Monday. I absolutely love my door. It was custom made and it’s pretty large door! The price was reasonable!"

"Initially we got some estimates and they were out of this world. They wanted over 14 thousand for the patio cover alone, we were going to cancel the idea for this year when we found RFMC at the home show and from that moment on everything changed. They not only did the patio cover, fans and lights but we also got a better quality cover and concrete work for less of the original estimates.  Their team is first class. They took care of everything including getting approval from the HERO program, City permits, etc. All work was done as promised, all our questions were answered and they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. They use quality products and stand behind them. We recommend them without hesitation. <br />"

"We have used them several times. They are very good, very prompt and did what they said they are going to. It's a very good experience with them. Pricing was very good when compared with others and they finished the work on time."

"Was a little late for his estimate appointment, but called in a timely manner to let us know. He already had design schematics drawn up to our specs per email and phone conversations. Made suggestions after listening to what we wanted. Work started exactly on schedule, and was completed* on time. The workers were meticulous and knowledgeable, spoke English, and cleaned up after the job was done to the point there was no evidence they had even been there! The quality of the materials and craftsmanship surpassed our expectations. The entire job cost as much as a quote we got for materials only. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />* lattice end cap pieces were apparently back ordered for several months, and this was not communicated to us or followed up. The only negative experience about the entire job. <br />"

"Thomas came to give me an estimate on installing insulation on a family room ceiling. We set a time for an appointment. Thomas was on time and called when he was on this way. After look at the room and discussing what I was looking for, Thomas didn't think the integrity of the ceiling was such that it could bare the additional weight. He made the recommendation to have insulation applied to the roof. Unfortunately, his company does not do this type of work. I really appreciate his honesty and his recommendation."

"Our experience with Ryan and his crew was extraordinary. They are committed professionals and dedicated to give it their all every day. Ryan advised and explained each step as it was being installed. He did all the necessary paperwork with the city and PGand E making our job easy. We would not hesitate to recommend Sol Power to our friends and family members. We don't think there can be a solar (construction) company better in the entire valley. We are extremely pleased. <br />"

FAQs for garage building service projects in Clovis, CA

A well‑constructed, properly permitted detached garage adds between $12,000 and $36,000 to a home’s resale value. Buyers appreciate the secure parking, extra storage, and flexible workspace, so appraisers often bump the property’s value accordingly. The exact return depends on the garage’s size, finishes, and how well it matches the main house, but most homeowners see a strong ROI when the build meets local codes and passes inspection.

Yes—once it meets local building codes and you secure the proper permits, a detached garage can be converted into living space. Finishing the interior, adding climate control, and ensuring safe egress effectively increase your usable square footage, though it may not always count toward the official listing. Skipping permits can trigger fines and even force you to undo the work, so always clear plans with your city first.

Most homeowners policies cover a detached garage under the “other structures” provision, but coverage limits vary. Review your declarations page and ask your agent how much protection you have for separate structures. If the limit is lower than the garage’s replacement cost, you can raise it for a modest premium. Confirming the details now prevents headaches if you ever need to file a claim.
