"Joe and Chris exceeded all of our expectations with the job. The job consisted of having to remove the left side door frame and molding from our bathroom door which they took great care in doing thus minimizing any destruction of the plaster walls. They expertly installed the new frame and rehung the door perfectly. They also repaired out front exterior door which was out of plumb and not closing properly. And also replaced our exterior basement door. They also replaced a damaged tongue and groove knotty pine board in our stairwell leading to our upstairs bedroom. Joe and Chris explained everything they had to do to complete the jobs and Joes estimate was reasonable in price. They are both gentlemen with a professional attitude, friendly and easy to talk to about the work and a variety of other topics not related to the job at hand. I highly recommend them."

"When American Jewel installed the door I gave them A grades as I thought they did an excellent job.  But after using the door for a few weeks I noticed the dead bolt didn't close completely, but only about 2/3, and also noticed the screen door was no longer aligned properly, so although it closed and looked right, the door was slightly off and it would no longer lock.  I called American Jewel and they scheduled the installer to return and make the minor corrections.  The installer did not show up.  When I called American Jewel again, they did not return my calls. I complained to Angie's List, and via their complaint resolution process American Jewel contacted me.  They were very apologetic and attributed it to a mix up, accepted responsibility and sent the installer to my home to make the minor corrections.  I would use American Jewel again, despite this hiccup, as my wife and I like the door they installed, feel we received excellent value, and ultimately American Jewel followed through on the minor problems I described and corrected them all."

"And it was.  Ricardo walked it, gave me the price and his recommendations.  I went and bought the materials while he submitted he got his insurance in with the building management company.  The only thing that bugged me was that it seemed to take forever to schedule for his guys to actually come and do the work.  However, once they did show up (Ricardo was with them for most of the time) they knocked it out in about 6 hours.  They even fixed some areas that they found that I hadn't noticed (a huge gap that had formed between the floor and the door to my terrace which the installed another transition piece in).  They moved some of the heavy furniture back into place for me and really did a good job cleaning up. I would definitely use them again.  The price was right, the quality of work was good and they respected my schedule.  They wanted to be sure that they did a good job."

"As usual, Alan showed up as scheduled and did a thorough walk-around to detail the work that needed to be done. Candi had the contract done the next morning and the carpenters showed up two days later as promised. Bucky and Max worked a full day and did a great job. They not only fixed the superficial rotted wood, but went down to the support structure and made repairs. They used good quality materials and were very happy to explain to me how they were making the repairs. The porches are on a Victorian Style house and they were able to make the repairs while maintaining the decorative style. Bucky's skill and workmanship really came through on the work done on the front porch. Max really did a great job replacing the shakes and fascia boards on the back porch. He also did a nice job replacing the outside door to the basement. This was a professional and quality job through and through."
