"They are a great auto shop. They always go out of their way to take care of their customers. They are always very professional and easy to talk to. Automotive Specialists only do what they need to do and do not try and upsell any of their customers. I have taken my truck to see Automotive Specialists for 10 years now. The truck has 186,000 miles on it, and is still is still running because of them. I would recommend them to anyone looking for any automotive repair shop."

"A little research on the web was leading me to think I was going to have to replace the water heater. However Wallace Plumbing came out and inspected the system and quickly determined that all that was needed was to clean out the short In/Out pipes on the top of the water heater. About an hour later they had completely fixed our hot water pressure problem. They said they inspected the water heater itself and it looked good and we should expect many more years of usage before a replacement was needed. They could easily have told me I needed a new water heater and I would have believed them. I am very happy to have found an honest, prompt and professional plumber and will be using them in the future and happily recommend them."

"It went very well. They came out fairly quickly. They came out quickly enough for me to be satisfied. It wasn't expensive, they fixed it for a very reasonable price. I remember that. They're very good, I'll call them again. The price was very reasonable, and they were responsive."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Columbia, MO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
